The meteor shower of January 3, 2011 is expected to be the best meteor show of 2011. One interesting fact according to my research, before a great awakening there were incredible meteor showers. This show is expected to be about 120 meteors per hour (aka ‘shooting stars’). The normal is 6-10 per hour on a typical night.

The meteor shower of November 13, 1833, before a spiritual awakening was recorded so thick, as extensive, so long lasting, that thousands feared the planet was doomed, ‘the whole firmament, over all the United States, being then, for [eight] hours in fiery commotion’… Meteor showers of 60,000 per hour Astronomers predict that the Quadrantids will peak around 8 p.m. EST January 3. That time works best for Europe, but North American meteor-watchers should also keep an eye out because predicting meteor showers isn’t an exact science yet. New Moon occurs at 4:03 a.m. EST January 4, so no distracting moonlight will pollute the sky.

REVIEW

Meteoroid is a rock in space from an asteroid or comet orbiting the sun.

A meteor is what the rock becomes when it hits the atmosphere (It is often called a ‘shooting star’ or ‘falling star’)

A meteorite is what remains of it, should it survive the journey and hit earth

2011 will be nothing to compare to that, but will be fun to see. Those in the southern areas need only to recline in their lawn chairs and watch the show (if you are away from city lights). No binoculars or telescope are needed and you won’t have to wait up for it. Peak Central time should be 7pm.

This is the first Lunar eclipse since August 28, 2007 when secret meetings were being held in Camp David regarding the Temple Mount.

This also is the evening of the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and marks the official beginning of winter. The sun is at its lowest in our sky because the North Pole of our tilted planet is pointing away from it.

According to Astronomy.com, this will have the highest Full Moon until 2020.    According to Rob Suggs of Marshall Space Flight Center, “The last time we had a total lunar eclipse on the solstice was in 1638 and the next one will be in 2094.”

The next total Lunar Eclipse will be April 2014, Passover. That will begin the tetrad of blood moons on feast days (Passover 2014, Tabernacles 2014, Passover 2015, Tabernacles 2015) I want to say so much about this, but there is no space in today’s email!!!!!

The eclipse will border the constellations Taurus, Gemini and Orion. (I love the Biblical meanings of these 3 constellations) Remember, how you tell the meaning of the constellation is to go back to the ancient star names (God named the stars, Ps 147:4) from the brightest in the constellation to the least.

TAURUS- ‘the bull’ This is a sign of the bull with his head down, rushing to perce and destroy his enemies with his sharp horns. The Hebew name is Shur, which comes from the root which means both coming and ruling.

  • The bulls eye is Al Debaran (Arabic) which means ‘leader’ or ‘governor’
  • The star in the tip of the horn is El Nath (Arabic) meaning ‘wounded’ or ‘slain’
  • The cluster of the stars at the neck of the bull is known as Pleiades which means congregation of the judge or ruler. This is also called Seven Sisters. Pleiades is found in the Bible in Job 9:9 and 38:31; Amos 5:8. Interesting that the 7 churches of Revelation 2-3 are all found at the base of the Taurus Mountains
  •  Another group of stars on the face of the bull is nown as the Hyades, which means ‘congregated’

GEMINI – ‘the twins’ Here we see Jesus in a manifold two-fold; God and man; suffering and glory; humiliation and triumph

  • One of the twins is holding a club and the other a bow, but they are both at rest, not in action – signifiying a peaceful reign to come, all enemies subdued
  • The Greeks called them Apollo and Hercules
  • The Hebrew name for the constellation is Thaumim, which means ‘united
  • The Latin names for the Twins are Castor and Pollux (see Acts 28:11)
  • The left twin holding the club is Hercules, ‘who cometh to labour or suffer’. The star in his left foot is Al Herah, which means ‘hurt’ or ‘wounded. The star in the center o fthe left twin is Waset, which means ‘set‘ and tells of Him who ‘set his face like flint’ to carry out the Herculean work and when the time was come ‘steadfastly set His face to go’ to complete it
  • The right twin holding the bow and arrow  brightest star in his head is called Apollo and means ‘ruler’ or ‘judge‘. The star in the knee of the twin on the right is called Mebsuto, which means ‘treading under feet.”
  • ORION- ‘the Glorious One’, ‘the Hunter’, ‘the Prince’This shows the Coming One is not a beast, but a triumphant, glorious man and prince
    • This constellations shows Jesus as the Light of this world (John 8:12; 1:4; 9:5)
    • In Hebrew the word is Chiseil, meaning ‘a strong one’, ‘a hero’
    • Amos 5:8, “He made the Pleiades and Orion”
    • The brightest star is in the shoulder and is named Betelgeus, which means ‘the coming of the branch’ (Malachi 3:2)
    • The next brightest star is in the foot and is called Rigel, meaning ‘the foot that crushes’. The foot is lifted up, and placed immediately over the head of the enemy, Lepus, as though in the very act of crushing it
    • The next star is in the left shoulder is called Bellatrix, which means ‘quickly coming’
    • The three in Orion’s belt are called the Three Kings (see Job 38:31)
    • Star in the right leg is Saiph, ‘bruised‘ (see Genesis 3:15)

We will experience the first total lunar eclipse over North America in almost 3 years this next week, the night that begins on December 20. Will this be a bright blood moon or a dark moon (sackcloth)? If depends on things in the atmosphere. If we had volcanic eruptions, the moon would be dark during this eclipse, but most likely this lunar eclipse will be dull red to bright blood red.

When was the last lunar eclipse and what were the headlines? (The following headline information is from Watch.org by Bill Koenig, September 3, 2008)

August 28, 2007: A Blood-Red Moon Rises over North America, Olmert Offers Temple Mount Sovereignty to the Palestinians, Olmert and Abbas Meet on Israel’s Land and Jerusalem, Bush Says Iran’s Actions Could Lead to a Shadow of a Nuclear Holocaust, and Bush Arrives in New Orleans for his 15th Post-Katrina Visit.

Another total lunar eclipse/”blood-red” moon occurred on July 16, 2000, while U.S. President Bill Clinton, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian Yasser Arafat were at the Middle East Summit at Camp David. The sticking point that caused the summit to fail had to do with who would have sovereignty over the Temple Mount-The Israeli’s or the Palestinian Arabs.

A lunar (moon) can only occur during a full moon, always the middle of a Hebrew month. A solar (sun) eclipse can only happen at the end or beginning of a Hebrew month.  If you don’t have a Jewish calendar, you can always tell what time of the month it is by the moon. A sliver of the moon shows the beginning or ending of the Hebrew month while a full moon is the middle of the month. In order for an eclipse to fit into Biblical prophecy it must fall on a Feast of the Lord or a Holy Day

When the signs are in the heavenlies over God’s appointed festivals (Feasts of the Lord) it is calling us to attention, watch. Luke 2:25, “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; (28) Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” (Also Daniel 6:26-27; Joel 2:31; Isaiah 34:2-5) [my comment- look up, WATCH the heavenly signs]

What do Rabbinical historical records show us regarding eclipses:

  • R. Meir said, “Whenever the luminaries are in eclipse, it is a bad omen for Israel since they are inured to blows. This may be compared to a school teacher who comes to school with a strap in his hand. Who becomes apprehensive? He who is accustomed to be daily punished. Our Rabbis taught, ‘When the sun is in eclipse it is a bad omen for idolaters; when Lavanah (Moon) is in eclipse, it is a bad omen for Israel, since Israel reckons by Lavanah (Moon) and idolaters by the sun. If it is in eclipse in the east, it is a bad omen for those who dwell in the east; if in the west, it is a bad omen for those who dwell in the west, if in the midst of heaven it is bad omen for the whole world. If its face is red as blood, [it is a sign that] the sword is coming to the world; if it is like sack-cloth, the arrows of famine are coming to the world; if it resembles both, the sword and the arrows of famine are coming to the world. If the eclipse is at sunset calamity will tarry in its coming; if at dawn, it hastens on its way, but some say the order is to be reversed. And there is no nation which is smitten that its G-ds are not smitten together with it, as it is said, And against all the G-ds of Egypt I will execute judgments. But when Israel fulfill the will of the Omnipresent, they need have no fear of all these [omens] as it is said, Thus saith the L-RD, ‘Learn not the way of the nations, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven, for the nation are dismayed at them, the idolaters will be dismayed, but Israel will not be dismayed.” (Talmud-Mas. Sukkah 29a)

As the shepherds, we should be ‘watching’ by night also. Mark 13:33, “Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.”

Today was the 2nd day of Rosh Hashanah and Day 2 of the Days of Awe.

Tonight right after sundown the New Moon (moon born again, The Holy) was on the bottom, Venus (Brilliance, symbol of the Bride of Christ), was up to the left in the bowl of the Cresent Moon and Saturn (Shabbatai, Lord of the Sabbath) and Mars (Ma’adim, the Adam) were to their right.

Tonight is also the end of Ramadan, month of fasting. The Cresent moon and star symbol is with the star on the right side and the moon turning the other way. Sign that God is turning things around? Selah.

Since Jupiter is going to be KING IN THE SKY in September, I felt I should go cover this planet in more depth. September 20 & 21 it will be the closest, biggest and brightest in 47 years. Please read to the end for special prayer points!

Jupiter is one of the ‘wandering stars’, or heavenly bodies that have a fixed motion. Jude 1:13 mentions ‘wandering stars’ and in the Greek it is planetes aster. Planetes is only used in this one reference, but aster is used 24 times in the New Testament, which was written in Greek.  Planetes is where we get the word ‘planets‘ and aster is where we get the word ‘asteroid‘.

The Hebrew word for Jupiter is Tzedek (Tsade, Dalet, Kaf) and means ‘righteousness‘. This is known as the King David Planet, known for the Messiah and also represents Israel.  It is the largest of all planets. Right now we are in the Season of Teshuvah, when the King is in the field. How wonderful that the King planet is drawing near to confirm the season!

Melchizedek, which means King of Righteousness, (Genesis 14:18) comes from the root word Tzedek. Since this planet represents Kings, it is seen in unusual ways when a leader of God’s covenant people is to be born.

  • Three years before the birth of Moses, Jupiter and Saturn were in conjunction in the constellation Pisces. Josephus, Abarbanel, Eliazar and other historians affirm that Egyptian astronomers interpreted this sign as an indicator that a great man would be born among the Jews. Perhaps this is why Pharaoh placed heavier workloads on the Hebrews. (Unleashing the Beast, Perry Stone, page 218)
  • In 3 BC Jupiter, the planet representing King David, was in conjunction with Regulus, the star of kingship, in the constellation Leo the lion, considered to represent the tribe of Judah. This conjunction in the lion would be served as a sign of the birth of a leader. Biblical astronomers put this as the timing of the birth of Jesus because of the signs in the heavens.

According to Jewish tradition and their historical sightings of the heavenlies, when Jupiter is hit from heavenly bodies (comets) it is a sign of trouble coming to Israel.

  • July 16, 1994 (Tisha B’Av), Shoemaker Levi Comet broke into 21 pieces bombarding Jupiter for 7 days, each impact stronger than a nuclear bomb. The Dallas Morning News 7/19/94 states each fragment blast was 400,000,000  times the explosive power of the atomic bomb of Hiroshima. On earth secret talks were taking place in Oslo, Norway, which became the Oslo Accords- plans to divide the land of Israel.
  •  At the time of this remarkable event, Jupiter was in the sign Libra, popularly represented as “The Scales,” or, perhaps more likely, “The light.” The adjacent constellation, Scorpio, “The Scorpion” was also involved. The area of the sky where Jupiter was located during the bombardment is pictured as where “the scorpion” is attempting to seize “the light.” The scorpion is possibly symbolic of Lucifer, whose name means “light bearer” or his agent, the anti-messiah.

September 21, 2010, Jupiter will be the biggest and brightest it has been in 47 years. So I went back 47 years to see what had happened in 1963 in Israel, the last time it was this bright.

  • David Ben Gurion, who was Prime Minister from the founding of Israel to 1963 and one of the original Zionists, resigned. During his last months the US Government was pressuring him regarding nuclear power.  (Four years later was the Six Day War when Jerusalem came back into the hands of the Jews.)
  • July 5, 1963, President John F Kennedy delivered to the new Israeli Prime Minister the final ultimatum. President Kennedy was asassinated November 1963 and many accusations were made blaming Israel for the asassination connection (which were proved false)

Thursday, September 2 is when the Middle East peace talks are being held. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be coming to Washington DC September 1. NOTE THAT HURRICANE EARL SEEMS TO BE HEADED FOR THE EAST COAST THIS WEEK AT THE TIME OF THE PLANNED PEACE TALKS.

  • On the Hebrew calendar September 2 will be Elul 23.
  • Elul 23 in 2001 was September 11, which is now known as 9/11 when the World Trade Towers were attacked by radical terrorists
  • Elul 23 in 2001 & Elul 23 in 2010 are both 7 days before the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah)

FALL FEAST CALENDAR FOR 2010

  • Wednesday eve, September 8 begins the new year, 5771 (Rosh Hashanah, Feast of Trumpets)
  • Wednesday eve, September 8 begins the 10 Days of Awe
  • Friday eve, September 17 begins the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur)
  • Saturday eve, September 18 ends the 10 Days of Awe
  • Wednesday eve, September 22 begins the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot)- ending Wednesday, September 29
  • Thursday, September 30 is Sukkot Day 8, Shemini Atzeret- Rejoicing in the Torah

An investigation has found that the default situation is that construction can resume with a bang on Sept. 27 in no fewer than 57 Jewish towns in Yesha. (Israeli National News 8/30/10)

I trust that all I have written today will prompt you to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Psalm 121, 122; Isaiah 62; Genesis 12:3; I Timothy 2:1-2.

Remember where we are on the calendar. The Jewish season of Teshuvah began the 11th and also Ramadan. Hmmm

We are at the beginning of the lunar month so the moon will be new, what is called in Hebrew, “The Holy”. It will be very small. When our children were small they called it a ‘toe nail’. Because the moon is still small we should have a good viewing of the stars. When the moon is full it is harder to see the constellations (fixed stars) and planets (wandering stars).

Let’s pray for a clear sky so we can see all that is happening in the sky Thursday and Friday nights.

First of all, we will have a meteor shower showing with as many as 60-100 meteors an hour looking northeast. This should happen when the sky is really dark, closer to midnight and after. It is called the Perseid Meteor Showers and promise to be a great show. Meteor showers are also known as ‘shooting stars’.

  • Meteoroid is a rock in space from an asteroid or comet orbiting the sun
  • Meteors are when they are in our atmosphere
  • Meteorite is what they are called if they land on earth

The shower is caused by the earth going through  Perseus

  • Perseus is The Breaker (the King, delivering the Redeemed seen walking on the path of the Milky Way) Micah 2:13. In his right hand he has a mighty ‘sword of the Spirit’, lifted up to strike the enemy. He has wings on his feet, showing He will come ‘quickly’ and ‘swiftly’. In his left hand he carries the head of the enemy that has been slain! YEAH!!!
  • Perseus is a decan of  the constellation Aries, The Ram or Lamb (the Lamb that was slain, prepared for victory)

BUT WAIT!!!! THERE’S MORE!!!  TONIGHT!!!

Four planets come into view shortly after sunset in the west , approximately 8:45pm.  Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Saturn gather low in the west at dusk and set within 2 hours of the Sun. Brilliant Venus stands out far more than the others. They will connect with the Porrima, also called Kaphar, The Atonement Star, at the heart of Virgo the Virgin. That gives us 5 lights stacked closely together in the constellation Virgo!   Let’s review them:

  • At the bottom, New Moon, Hebrew Chodesh, the emblem of the Holy Spirit
  • Right above it, Venus, Hebrew Nogah, The Splendor, representing the Splendor of the Lord- the brightest light
  •  Above and to the right of Venus, Saturn, Hebrew Shabbatai, representing Lord of the Sabbath
  • Above Venus to the left is Mars, Hebrew Ma’Adim, The Adam, representing the Son of Man
  • Right above Mars is the Atonement Star, at the heart of Virgo

These 5 glowing stars clustered together reflect the heart of the Virgin. The Hebrew month we are now in is Elul, the accronym of the Hebrew wording  ‘I am my beloved and my beloved’s is mine’, found in the Song of Songs (Song of Solomon). This month is all about getting back to your first love. (Revelation 2:4)

BUT WAIT!!! THERE’S MORE!!! IN THE EAST!!! WOW!!!

Jupiter, Hebrew Tzedek, the Righteous joins the sky and is seen rising shortly after 10pm, best seen after midnight. The planet Jupiter represents the Messiah and often Israel because it is the King David planet. The Moon and Venus are the brightest ‘wandering stars’, but this month Jupiter will be the 3rd brightest star in the heavens. September 2010, when the Fall Feasts of the Lord begin, Jupiter will rule the night. (Selah)

If we have a cloudless night, Ken and I plan to spray the yard and lay in the pool and star watch- giving glory to God.

This is looking to be a better show than the Saturday nights during summer in Echo, Minnesota when they showed Ma & Pa Kettle movies free by the Grain Elevator. Yee Hah!!! Free shows are back again, this time starring Genesis 1:14, signs and for seasons.

One of the things the Lord Jesus and the writers of the Epistles commanded us to do is watch, to be on guard, alert and watching, awake and not asleep.

Mark 13:33, “Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. (34) [It is] like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. (35) Watch for you do not know when the master of the house is coming–in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning– (36) lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. (37) And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” therefore,

The watchers reporting the signs on the earth are many, but there are few watchers reporting on the signs in the heavens. Why? Because there is so much warfare involved. The devil has had the heavenlies for too long.  Lack of knowledge of the heavenlies. God’s people are ignorant.

Luke 21:11, “And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilence; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.” (fearful is Greek phobetron, where we get the word phobia & great is the Greek word megas, where we get the word mega, referring to something very large)

Genesis 1:14, “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years” (seasons- moedim, God’s fixed, appointed times)

When the signs are in the heavenlies over God’s appointed festivals (Feasts of the Lord) it is calling us to attention, watch. Luke 2:25, “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; (28) Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” (Also Daniel 6:26-27; Joel 2:31; Isaiah 34:2-5)[my comment- look up, WATCH the heavenly signs]

Stars: Wandering and Fixed (remember in Basics, part 1  we covered that God ‘named’ the stars)

The wandering stars are the planets that move in a pattern.  According to rabbinical teachings, there were originally  7 heavenly lights God used to teach His people, the same number of the lights on a menorah.

The 7 original planets are:

  1.  Jupiter [Hebrew Tzeked meaning ‘righteous’] This is the King David Planet, also known as the Messiah.
  2.  Saturn [Hebrew Shabbtai meaning ‘Sabbath’, representing the Lord of the Sabbath, rest] This is the most beautiful planet and is made of gas.
  3. Venus [Hebrew Nogah meaning ‘Splendor’, The Splendor of the Lord] This represents the Bride (for Israel being God’s bride or the Bride of Christ) This is also known as ‘the Morning Star’ and is seen before dawn or right after sundown.  This is the brightest celestial object nest to the sun or moon.
  4. Mars [Hebrew Ma’adim, The Red One, representing The Adam]
  5. Mercury [Hebrew Kochav, The Sun Star] Mercury is only visible a few weeks of the year.
  6. Sun [Hebrew Chamah] representing Holy Fire
  7. Moon [Hebrew Lavanah] This represents the Holy Spirit of God

The Fixed Stars are constellations and together tell the story of from Jesus’ first coming to His second coming. Job, known as the oldest book in the Bible, speaks of the Bear, Orion, Pleiades, Cetus, the Sea Monster, Draco adn the Great Dragon. All of those are either constellations or part of the main constellations.

The fixed stars we are going to concentrate on are the constellations. There are 12 constellations, each with 3 decans making up 48 fixed signs. 12 is the number representing government, ruling (12 Tribes of Israel, 12 Apostles of Jesus, 12 months, etc). The story told comes from the names of the brightest stars to the lesser and put together tell the story. These names have not changed meanings throughout history- from Adam to now. In different languages the name is changed, but not the meaning.

Today we will only focus on Virgo because we will be looking at the wonder in the heavenlies in Virgo August 12th.

VIRGOThe Virgin, the promised seed of a woman (Gen 3:15)  (woman with a branch in her right hand and some ears of corn in her left hand)

  • Coma, the Desired– the Desire of all nations (woman holding a baby)
  • Centaurus, the Centaur– the despised sin offering (half man, half horse- 2 natures of Jesus, being the Son of Man & the Son of God)
  • Bootes, The Coming One– He Cometh- The Coming One (picture of a man, shepherd or harvester,  walking rapidly with a spear in his right hand and a sickle in the left hand)

The first constellation group of Virgo tells the story of Jesus, being born of a virgin (Is 7:14), being the desire of all nations (Haggai 2:7), to be the despised sin offering (Isaiah 53), and the promised Coming One (John 1:26-27). The brightest star that leads the constellation is the ‘branch‘, Hebrew Tsemech. This is used exclusively as representing “the Messiah” and begins the story of Jesus. (Jer 23:5; Zech 3:8 & 6:12; Is 4:2)

Genesis 1:14, And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Signs– H226, owth, meaning a sign or signal; token, ensign, standard, miracle, proof

Seasons– H4150, mow’ed (moed) meaning appointed place, appointed time, meeting (this is the same word as the Feasts (moedim) of the Lord (Lev 23))

When God created the lights in the heavens He had a purpose, and had a purpose for everything He created. (Ecc 3:1) If I was taking a car trip to New York and I had never been there before, I would have to rely on ‘signs’ along the road. As I got closer to New York the signs would be closer in distance and bigger.

I will show you throughout this study that there has never been a Biblical prophetic happening regarding God’s plan without signs in the heavens before and during that prophetic happening. The one that stands out the most would be the first coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The WISE men from the East saw HIS star in the heavens and came to worship the One called the King of the Jews. There was not just one, but several Eastern astronomers that saw that sign the God had ordained for a specific time.

My intention for this blog teaching is to bring as many people back to the truth of God’s purpose for the heavens. I am not scientific minded but God has opened up to me some truths regarding the signs in the heavens for the purpose of teaching the truth.

There is a ditch on both sides of each main road. If you look at God’s intentions, as found in the Bible, for the signs in the heavens as the main road, there are two ditches on each side. One ditch is to totally ignore the heavens as demonic horoscope and the other ditch is to look at the heavens to direct your life and your focus is off Jesus, looking for a sign. We are told to WATCH, Pray, not be ignorant.

Luke 21:11, And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great (mega)  signs shall there be from heaven.

Here are a few scriptures that speak about the firmament of the heavens:

Psalm 19:1, To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. THE heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. (2) Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. (3) There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. (4) Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, (notice the verbs- they are declaring, showing, uttering,  revealing and have words everyone can understand)

Isaiah 40:26, (NLT) Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out one after another, calling each by its name. And he counts them to see that none are lost or have strayed away. (Who does all these things with the stars? Creator God)

Psalm 147:4, He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by [their] names.
