Genesis 1:14, And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Signs– H226, owth, meaning a sign or signal; token, ensign, standard, miracle, proof
Seasons– H4150, mow’ed (moed) meaning appointed place, appointed time, meeting (this is the same word as the Feasts (moedim) of the Lord (Lev 23))
When God created the lights in the heavens He had a purpose, and had a purpose for everything He created. (Ecc 3:1) If I was taking a car trip to New York and I had never been there before, I would have to rely on ‘signs’ along the road. As I got closer to New York the signs would be closer in distance and bigger.
I will show you throughout this study that there has never been a Biblical prophetic happening regarding God’s plan without signs in the heavens before and during that prophetic happening. The one that stands out the most would be the first coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The WISE men from the East saw HIS star in the heavens and came to worship the One called the King of the Jews. There was not just one, but several Eastern astronomers that saw that sign the God had ordained for a specific time.
My intention for this blog teaching is to bring as many people back to the truth of God’s purpose for the heavens. I am not scientific minded but God has opened up to me some truths regarding the signs in the heavens for the purpose of teaching the truth.
There is a ditch on both sides of each main road. If you look at God’s intentions, as found in the Bible, for the signs in the heavens as the main road, there are two ditches on each side. One ditch is to totally ignore the heavens as demonic horoscope and the other ditch is to look at the heavens to direct your life and your focus is off Jesus, looking for a sign. We are told to WATCH, Pray, not be ignorant.
Luke 21:11, And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great (mega) signs shall there be from heaven.
Here are a few scriptures that speak about the firmament of the heavens:
Psalm 19:1, To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. THE heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. (2) Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. (3) There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. (4) Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, (notice the verbs- they are declaring, showing, uttering, revealing and have words everyone can understand)
Isaiah 40:26, (NLT) Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out one after another, calling each by its name. And he counts them to see that none are lost or have strayed away. (Who does all these things with the stars? Creator God)
Psalm 147:4, He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by [their] names.
