2 Kings 20:19, “Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, The word of the Lord you have spoken is good. For he thought, Is it not good, if [all this evil is meant for the future and] peace and security shall be in my days?”

2 Timothy 3:1, “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. (2) People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,”

Baby Boomers are those (like me) who were born 1946 and 1964. After WWII there was a great boom in the baby-making business as soldiers came back from war and the economy and future looked much better for families.  This was a time of great productivity in everyone of the Seven Mountains of Culture (the areas of influence of global society).

  1. Media
  2. Government/Military
  3. Education
  4. Economy/Business
  5. Family
  6. Arts and Entertainment
  7. Religion/Church

Unfortunately, most of them have not represented the Kingdom of God, but the kingdoms of this world system. Matthew 6:33, (AMPC) “seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.” We are like Hezekiah – concerned about self, not the future of his children and grandchildren.

Since I am a Baby Boomer myself, let me reminisce my growing up. I grew up in a rural farming community in Minnesota, with a population of 500. I graduated top 10 in my class (of 17). Very little was store-bought. I got my first store-bought dress for my Lutheran Confirmation celebration when I was 13 years old. Our back-yard was not a swimming pool, but consisted of a huge vegetable garden, clothesline that was full every Monday, and a big barrel to burn our garbage. (yes – we burned our garbage, and we burned piles of leaves). We drank water out of a hose and raided the garden when the peas were ready to eat. When the town whistle blew at 12:00 noon and 6:00 pm, we knew to drop what we are doing and run home for lunch and dinner. At dinner, we all sat at the dining room table TOGETHER and ate after we had all said our prayers of thanksgiving for the meal. Nobody got to pick their own meal, everyone ate what was prepared and we were thankful for it. After the meal, the children were responsible to clean off the table and do the dishes. For chicken for the freezer, we watched Mom and Dad cut the head off of chickens from the farmers and watched as the chickens would run around the back yard with their heads cut off. They watched Mom pluck each of the chicken. We worked hard on Saturday, cleaning the whole house before we could do anything else. We mowed grass, shoveled  the snow, weeded the garden, work work work whatever needed to be done, we were a part. We were spanked, hard and lived through it. Sundays we all went to church together, sat in the same pew, were pinched when we giggled. After Church we normally had pot roast in the oven waiting for us before we had a relaxing Sunday afternoon. And when we graduated we got a suitcase to leave, because now we were grown up and should go out on our own.

Now compare today. We were raised in a time of growing prosperity and are left un-thankful. We may have not been spoiled, but have raise our children to be spoiled and believing life is all about them. Entitlement mentality.  Everyone on the team now gets a medal. Now even the grade-school age have their own cell phones – and predators know this. These kids are left to spend hours playing games that are forming their mindset into killers!

But most don’t care, as long as we get what we want, who cares about our children and our grandchildren.

Baby Boomers have become like King Hezekiah. As long as their is peace and security in our time, who cares what we leave to the generation behind us. As long as we get our Social Security Check, who cares if this next generation never sees the financial security that they have paid for.

Maybe we need to take a long hard look at Hezekiah’s son, Manasseh. He became king at 12 years old and reigned for 55 years. He became known as the most wicked king in Judah’s history! What kind of a generation are we leaving behind?

Right now, suicide is the second cause of death in a 10-year old. Because of this global pandemic, the youth have lost hope for a future. Suicide is growing increasingly in the children and young adults. This is the legacy we are leaving. SELAH, pause and think about this. Then turn your prayers from asking God for more for yourself, but what can I do to help this next generation that will benefit the Kingdom of God.

I was listening to a recording of Pastor Mark Barclay (marktbarclay.com) when he was a speaker at a ministers conference this past January. Towards the end he begins to speak boldly of experiences of calling on the God of the Tithe to rebuke the devourer. When I heard it I was surprised because I had a strong witness in my heart that this was the hour to call on the God of the Tithe.

He shared on how he had called on the God of the Tithe when the doctors said his wife would not survive the assault of cancer in her body. She was determined cancer free 32 days later and the doctor was astounded! He called on the God of the Tithe when his tender age granddaughter was pronounced dead after drowning in the family swimming pool. Immediately after he started to rebuke death and called on the God of the Tithe she began to breathe and is a grown young lady today.

Malachi 3:8 declares, ““For I am the LORD, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. (10) Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. (11) And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the LORD of hosts

Lord of Hosts is Jehovah SabaothJehovah is ‘Lord or Master‘. Sabaoth in Hebrew means “an army going out to war.” This title in the Bible is referred to as ‘Lord of the angel armies’, or ‘Lord of Hosts’. God is always there to defend us, fight our battles, and win our wars. There is no enemy He cannot defeat – nothing is too hard for Him.

When Ken and I were born again in 1982, we tried to tithe, but our bills were too much that we only gave offerings. In 1992 we came to end of our own selves and one of the promises to God we made was that we would always tithe, no matter what. It was not going to be a promise made in fear of God punishing us. This commitment we made was a matter of honor. A commitment to honor Him not just with our time, our service, but our finances. That was 38 years ago, and we have lacked nothing. The first 2 years of tithing was fighting our flesh and fear of lack. But if all we got that week was $10, we sang and waved our $1 to God on the way to Church on Sunday. We rejoiced.

We have given some pretty big tithe checks in these past 28 years and have never regretted our commitment. We have been audited by the IRS twice in those years and both times it was to prove we gave that much to the Church, mission and ministries who were 501(c)3 Religious organizations. Both times we had proof that our giving far outreached 10%.

I was listening to a minister today that I highly respect. He was asked a question about if he thought God was judging the world right now.  He sat back and realized they were in fear of an angry God in heaven, sitting with a baseball bat, ready to punish. I loved his answer that in the time of Egypt, God said that he was going to judge Egypt’s gods.

Numbers 33:4, For the Egyptians buried all their firstborn, which the LORD had smitten among them: upon their gods also the LORD executed judgments. (Ex 12:12) In each one of the plagues, God was coming against one of their gods until there was none left.

The minister I was listening to today said, “I believe God is coming against the god of Mammon right now.” I agree.  Matthew 6:24, Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in).” (AMPC) Also read Luke 16:9,11,13.

During these trying times, I am thankful for the GOD OF THE TITHES! I am at peace.

April 1, 2019 will be the 40th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Republic. January 16, 1979, the Shah of Iran, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi was forced into exile. February 1, 1979 the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini made a victorious conquering return to Iran from exile. The new Islamic Republic under the Ayatollah’s leadership was proclaimed April 1, 1979.

Under Mohammad Reza’s reign, Iran marked the anniversary of 2,500 years of continuous Persian monarchy since the founding of the Achaemenid Empire by Cyrus the Great. We have just finished the Festival of Purim, which marks the events happening in the Book of Esther where the wicked Haman tried to wipe Israel out of existence – but God intervened and everything was turned to Israel’s favor.

I remember watching it on television, not understanding what that all meant, but I knew it was important. I was born again in 1982 and immediately I had a heart for Bible history and especially Israel.

Once the Ayatollah Khomeini came into power, all relations with Israel were cut off and now for the past 40 years every effort towards Israel was laced with hatred. They call Israel “Little Satan” and the United States “Big Satan”.  The priority of all money in the new Iran’s government was and is directed to wiping Israel off the map and they are behind the funding of all the missiles and weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.

Tomorrow I will write regarding the significance of this Islamic Republic at 40 years. Forty is a key prophetic number in the Bible and their ‘season’ and reign may be  coming to an end. SELAH

How many of you are constantly drawn to look at the clock at 11:11? I truly believe that God is alerting this generation that we are the 11th hour harvesters.

We are currently in the month of Shevat, the 11th month on the Hebrew calendar. Wednesday, January 16 at sundown will be the 11th day of the 11th month. I felt it very strongly to share this with you at this time.

Matthew 20:6, “And about the eleventh hour (5pm) he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’ (7) “They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive. (8) So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’ (9) “And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius. (10) “But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius. (11) “And when they had received it, they complained against the landowner, (12) “saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’ (13) “But he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? (14) ‘Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the same as to you. (15) ‘Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?’ (16) “So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.”

I was in prayer one day and Father showed me that ‘chosen’ actually meant paid the price to be qualified, not pew-sitters, not game players, but like a Navy Seal qualification to finish and become the best of the best in the US Navy. Each of us have got a part, each of us has an assignment. But the issue right now is “how are you going to finish?” Tick, tock- time is running out.

On the Jewish day, the night begins at sundown, let’s say 6pm. So the night goes from 6:00pm to 6:00am. This comes from God and Creation in Genesis 1, every date started at sundown. So the work day is 6am to 6pm. Therefore, the 11th hour of the work day is the 11th hour, the last hour to work and I do not want Jesus to say “Why have you been standing here idle all day?”

Eleven is a number of preparing to change over or transition , when you are preparing for the evening, ending all the work that needs to be done.

  • Deuteronomy 11:11, getting ready for a new place, crossing over into your promise
  • Luke 11:11, Jesus transitions the Jews in how they think about God, no longer slaves, but calling God Father
  • John 11:11, Lazarus our friend is falling asleep – transitioned between from earth to heaven
  • Proverbs 11:11, by the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted. Teaching them how to transition a city for God by putting righteous leaders in authority
  • Hebrews 11:11, Sarah received her promise and was taken out of the cycle of shame and unrelenting disappointments month after month with no baby. She has now been transitioned into receiving the promise of a son, Isaac.
  • What has God promised you and you have not seen. The work day is not over, there is still time so don’t give up on your promise.

Since the work day is ending, new assignments will be given out. I am seeing so many people in ministry all of a sudden being shifted to a new assignment, to a new territory.

Cindy Jacobs of Generals International said that 11 is like a birth canal, the baby is going from the comfort of the womb to the stress and discomfort of being born into a new, large life.

National Geographic: On the morning of 11:11, just before 9:30 UT, a mysterious rumble rolled around the world. The seismic waves began roughly 15 miles off the shores of Mayotte, a French island sandwiched between Africa and northern tip of Madagascar. The waves buzzed across Africa, ringing sensors in Zambia, Kenya and Ethiopia. They traversed vast oceans, humming across Chile, New Zealand, Canada, and even Hawaii nearly 11,000 miles away…..lasting 20 minutes…… not heard by humans, but picked up on seismograph earthquake readings. Seismologist at Columbia University said, “I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it.”

Pastor John Kilpatrick  of Church of His Presence in Daphne, AL received a word for our children that God was going to be a “wall of fire” around them, received at 1:11am on 11.11.18.

Lance Walnau from Facebook tells of someone sent him at 1:11am, ” I see the 11:11 over you, not only has you have interpreted in your post, but I also see an 11th hour ministry call unfolding in your life. An urgency to move – but you will be given the wisdom, knowledge, ability and relationships to accomplish this new 11th hour move.”

This is what God has been showing me for 2019. We are going to see History repeat itself and God is going to use women for the wealth transfer just as He did in Exodus 12:36, the women ’emptied Egypt’. I hope you enjoy this episode of Ken Bostrom Ministries Broadcast. Get ready for this year, it is going to be tough, but in the end it will be worth it because we win!
