L’ Shana Tova! Happy New Year!

Today is the first day of year 5778, counting the years since the creation of Adam. This is a two-day Feast of the LORD, because ‘no man knows the day or the hour’ when the first sliver of moon is sighted. I have found several names for this ‘fixed appointed time’ on God’s Day-timer. There are 7 Feasts of the Lord, 6 of them have historical significance, but this Feast has no history. The Feast of Trumpets point to future events.

  • Spring Feast Season (all fulfilled) (have to do with ‘personal salvation’)
    • Passover
    • Feast of Unleavened Bread
    • Feast of First Fruit
  • Summer Feast (fulfilled)
    • Pentecost
  • Fall Feast Season (yet to be fulfilled) (have to do with ‘national salvation’)
    • Feast of Trumpets
    • Day of Atonement
    • Feast of Tabernacles

The Names of the Feast of Trumpets reveal of what will be happening when this Feast is fulfilled.

  • Rosh HaShanah – Head (rosh) of the (ha) Year (shanah), when the number of the year changes
  • Yom Teruah – “blowing of trumpets” or “The Day of the Awakening Blast”
  • The Time of Jacob’s Trouble – another name for the Tribulation
  • Yom Ha-Zikaron – “Day of Remembrance” – the day to remember to blow the shofar 100 times
  • Yom HaDin / Day of Judgment / The Opening of the Books / Opening of the Gates – these names all have to do with the 3 books that are opened in heaven on this day for judgment (1) The books of the Righteous (2) The books of the Unrighteous (3) The books of those in-between. These 10 days between Feast of Trumpets and Yom Kippur is believed to be the time when judgment will be set for the next year.
  • Yom HaKeseh – “The Hidden Day”, Zeph 2:1-4, ‘…it may be you shall be hid in the day of the LORD’s anger’, Ps 27:5, ‘He shall hide me’
  • Ha Kiddushin / Nesuin – “Wedding of the Messiah” – Joel 2:15-16’… let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet (chuppah)’
  • Ha Melech – “Coronation of the Messiah as King of the whole earth”

Rosh Hashanah (Head of the Year) begins tonight at sundown. As the sun goes down, the month. day and year will change. The year will become 5778, marking the years since the creation of man (Adam)

The Feast of Trumpets (also called Rosh Hashanah or Yom Teruah) begins by the blowing of trumpets (shofars or rams horns). There are 100 blasts of the shofar:

  • Tekiah blast“- awakening sound, one long blast (3 second)
  • Shevarim, “broken”- three shorter ones- weeping, lamenting, broken heart
  • Teruah, “alarm”, nine quick blasts in short succession (totaling 3 seconds)
  • These series are blown 11 times for a total of 99 blasts
  • After that, the final blast is knows as Tekiah Hagodolah, “great blast” or “THE LAST TRUMP”! (minimum of 10 seconds)

Rosh Hashanah begins 10 Days of Awe that will end on Yom Kippur, Day of Atonement that begins at nightfall, September 29, which begins Tishri 10 on the Hebraic calendar. Yom Kippur ends the 40 days of Teshuvah (repentance, turning back to God). For 40 days they have been reading aloud Psalm 27, as they make a Chuppah (canopy or covenant covering) over themselves and their loved one. They have also been making restitution to those who they have harmed, giving to the poor and doing acts of kindness. (things we should do daily, but neglect)

At the time of the blowing of the trumpets on Rosh Hashanah, it is believed by the observing Jewish people that these blasts are heard in heaven and 3 books are opened. Malachi 3:16, “Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, And the LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His name. (17) “They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels.* And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him. (18) Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him.” (Also see Revelation 20:12)

  1. Book of the Righteous sealed with the seal of God who would immediately be written for good life the next year (Revelation 3:5)
  2. Book of the Unrighteous, who would be judged during the year; the totally unrighteous whose names are blotted out.(Ps 69:28)
  3. Book of the Intermediate, those who are not completely righteous or wicked. They would have until the Day of Atonement to make restitution and get right with God or they would not be in the Book of Life. (Joel 3:14)

L’Shanah Tovah Tikatevu Literal Hebrew to English Translation: “May you be inscribed (in the Book of Life) for a good year.” This traditional Rosh HaShanah greeting wishes others a good year and is often shorted to “Shanah Tovah” (Good Year).

Years ago, the Rabbis realized that Ha’Satan (The Accuser) actually has the numberical value of the Hebrew letters of 364. They believed that there was one day that Ha’satan did not have access to them, The Day of Atonement which is the day when the blood was put on the Mercy Seat on the Holy of Holies for the sins of the nation.

As a believer, I am spending the Days of Awe praying for our nation, the nation of Israel and for the Jewish people to find Jesus as their Messiah.

Ezekiel 22:30, “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.”

How many is our LORD going to find this year? Are you one of those who stand in the gap?

We are in the time in history that Moses was on the mountain for the second 40 days, seeking forgiveness for the entire nation of Israel because of the sin of the Golden Calf. In history, the day that he came down with the judgment of mercy was Tishri 10 (this year 9/30/17), which became known as The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur).

Tomorrow at sundown begins the “Ten Days of Awe”, where books in heaven are opened for the ‘just, the unjust and those in-between’. I feel what the Spirit of the Lord is showing me is that there is judgment upon national leaders and nations right now and there is still time for them to humble themselves and turn to the Lord.

Time-is-running-out-HourglassThe books will be closed, judgement will be set at the end of the 10 days of Awe, as Yom Kippur begins, The Day of Atonement. In history, this is the day that Moses came down the mountain with the judgment of mercy for the nation of Israel.  We are in very serious times, very dangerous times. Seek the Lord, not only for yourselves, but for the nations, for the leaders.

Revelation 15:3, “And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.”

Tonight after the Passover Seder I wanted to see where the Full Moon was located. What I saw almost took my breath away because the Word of God came to me from Psalm 85:10, “Mercy and truth are met together, righteousness and peace have kissed each other.”

Tonight, Passover Eve, we celebrate not only God delivering His covenant people from Egypt, but Jesus taking the sin for us, so we could become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Jupiter (Tzedek) is the orange planet on the right and means “righteousness”. It seems to be kissed by the full moon. The moon has no light in itself, it only has the reflection of the Sun. The Church has no light in itself, only the reflection of Jesus, the Light of the World. Jesus came to bring mercy, not judgment. Mercy and truth came together almost 2000 years ago, to set the captives free. To God be the glory! Shalom, Shalom

Abba! Abba! Help Us!

The Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot)  is time to rejoice and remember how Almighty God took care of the Israelites in the 40 years in the Wilderness. This is a great time in Israel when the nations come to gather to celebrate this great Feast of the Lord.

HOWEVER- This year it is not so peaceful, not such a joyful time because of the threats of the bullies who threaten their peaceful way of life. Below is a photo of a Jewish father (Abba) taking his 2 young sons to the Western Wall to celebrate Sukkot. Muslim women surrounded the family and began to shout, spit and call them names. Then young Muslim men joined with kicking, spitting and shouting hate filled words. The little boy cries out Abba Abba! But the father could do nothing. Not only that, not one person helped them. No believers, no shop owners, no Jews, no police. The video is online to view.

Israel boys threated inOld City on Sukkot 2015Now the little nation is being bullied and the world is silent. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a stunning address to the United Nations on their silence, and apathy as nations surround them determining to wipe them out. Below is the size of Israel in comparison to surrounding nations that are filled with hate. Map_of_Middle_EastBelieve me when I say, they are crying Abba Abba to Father God, who is a covenant making God and a covenant keeping God. Do I feel sorry for Israel? No! I am standing with Israel and with the promises God made and is keeping with Israel- Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! I do feel sorry for those who come against Israel- they are coming against the God of the Universe! And He always wins.

Isaiah 62:1, For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns. (6) I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, (7) And give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Sunday night at 9:44pm Central Standard Time we will view the 4th Blood Moon of the Four Blood Moons of 2014-2015. I went out into my back yard tonight, looked southeast and shot a few views with my SkyView App.

Moon near Aquarius 9.26.15Moon hear Pisces 9.26.15

In both shots the moon is black and white. The light blue planet below Pisces (fish) is Uranus and the bright blue planet in Aquarius is Neptune. Neither of these 2 planets are the original 7 planets, which made up the heavenly menorah on Creation.

Tomorrow night the Blood Moon will be found in Pisces – the Fishes. The sign of Pisces has always been interpreted as the nation of Israel. Why? Maybe because Abraham was a stranger here on earth, knowing there was a heavenly city, whose builder and maker was God. (Hebrews 11:10)

Abarbanel, a Jewish commentator, writing on Daniel, affirms that the Sign Pisces always refers to the people of Israel. He gives five reasons for this belief, and also affirms that a conjunction of the planets Jupiter and Saturn always betokens a crisis in the affairs of Israel. Because such a conjunction took place in his day (about 1480 AD), he looked for the coming of Messiah.

E. W. Bullinger comments on this : Certainly when the sun is in Pisces all the constellations which are considered noxious, are seen above the horizon. What is true in astronomical observation is true also in historical fact. When God’s favor is shown to Israel, ‘the Jew’s enemy’ puts forth his malignant powers. When they increased and multiplied in Egypt, he endeavored to compass the destruction of the nation by destroying the male children; but their great Deliverer remembered His covenant, defeated the designs of the enemy, and brought the counsel of the heathen to nought. So it was in Persia; and so it will be yet be again when the hour of Israel’s final deliverance has come.

Tonight as the sun goes down, the 25 hour fast of Yom Kippur begins.

Leviticus 23:27, ““Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. (32) “It shall be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your sabbath.”

This is the most serious day on the Jewish Calendar. God wanted His chosen people to be holy (kadosh – set apart, sanctified), separated from sin and the heathen influences of the world.

Yom Kippur, also known as  Yom Ha kippurim (which means the day of covering or concealing), the Day of  Atonement, The Fast, The Great Fast, Day of the Covering, Face to Face (my favorite name); Day of Forgiveness, Day of Grace, or the Day of Judgment.

But this year is more serious- It is a Jubilee Year. It is said to be the 40th Jubilee year since Christ’s death,  70th  Jubilee year since Joshua brought the nation of Israel into their Promised Land and the 120th Jubilee year in history.

Leviticus 25:10, “And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family.

The Ten Days of Awe are finished. The books are sealed.

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.
