I am not a sports enthusiast and have never followed horse-racing, until one of my mentors told me to “watch and pray” during the Triple Crown races. She said that the Triple Crown winner could be a  prophetic sign for Israel and the United States of America. This is the first Triple Crown winner in 37 years and the 12th overall.

Some Examples:

  • 1948 – Triple Crown Winner Citation – Israel becomes a nation and War of Independence
  • 1973 – Triple Crown Winner Secretariat – Israel Yom Kippur War
  • 1978 – Triple Crown Winner Affirmed – Israel and South Lebanon War

Jesus told us 7 times as recorded in Mark 13 & 14 to “watch” in the Last Days. Therefore I feel my position as a follower of Jesus Christ is to “watch and pray”. The name American Pharaoh struck me as very interesting because of things I have seen with America’s current president.

  • When Barak Obama was inaugurated the Torah reading for the week included Exodus 1:8, “Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.” Note it did not say Pharaoh, but king. This current president has been more like a king than the former presidents.
  • One Mr Obama’s first presidential foreign travels he visited Egypt. He looked at a hieroglyphic of a pharaoh and said, “He looks like me! Look at those ears.” He did resemble the ancient pharaoh!
  • Mr Obama is the 44th president with 44 tzars. Those tzars are appointed by him, paid by our tax dollars and now seem to have power than the elected Senate and Congress. Exodus 1:11, “Therefore they set taskmasters…”
  • During his presidency, the abortion rate has gone down and I think it is due to the faithful intercession of saints. Exodus 1 says the midwives had the fear of God and prevented the baby boys from being killed at birth. Intercessors are likened to midwives, who aid and assist the birthing.

I will keep praying for our nation and our leaders as directed by God in I Timothy 2:1-4, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” But I will definitely be watching and praying.

So many things are hanging in the balance for the United States and Israel and God needs us on the wall, watching and praying. Ezekiel 22:30 records there were no watchman, ““So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” I believe that whatever is coming can be stopped or lessened by our prayers.

There are great breaches in our wall, the protection of the United States. I feel we are near to the timing of Nehemiah 1:3 again, “They said to me, “Things are not going well for those who returned to the province of Judah. They are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem has been torn down, and the gates have been destroyed by fire.” We are not there yet, but closer than you think.
