Esther, Chapter 2 ‘The first recorded beauty pageant’

Yesterday we saw the key figures in the Book of Esther. King  Ahasuerus & Queen Vashti from the Royal Family, Esther & Mordecai who were Jews in captivity and Haman who was an outright Jew hater.

Esther 2:1, begins with ‘after these things’– but does not tell ‘what things’. History records this came 4 years later after coming back from another great defeat with Greece. He comes back and no harem women could satisfy him
because he could only share his heart with an equal, a queen. But there was no longer a Queen Vashti.

What to do? Let’s go throughout all 127 provinces and bring back the most beautiful virgins. So 400 virgins were taken to the harem to begin preparations for a night with the King, to possibly be chosen as the next queen. The Hebrew
verb, ‘was taken’ is a verb used elsewhere as ‘taken by force’. Can you blame them? Taken from their family to be put in a harem with hundreds of women, maybe never to get married and have a family. One of those virgins was Esther, a Jew. She was orphaned and living with her uncle Mordecai. Neither of them revealed their Jewish bloodline.

All the 400 virgins went through 6 months of bitter herb treatment for cleansing and then 6 months of sweet odors. They would be taught the art of sensual techniques in love making, art of seduction, pampering bodies, art of
applying costumes & makeup. Esther gained favor with the keeper of the women, Hegai. In Hebrew it reads, ‘she lifted up grace before his face’. All the other virgins had to guess what would please the king, but Esther was graced with the only one that knew what pleased the king.

Hegai is likened to the work the Holy Spirit does in our lives when we first come to the Lord. The Holy Spirit knows what pleases our King Jesus and for a period begins the bitter work of working things out of our lives that keep us from His perfect plan. The next period the Holy Spirit brings us into the sweet presence of God through prayer and His Word so that we can be used of God. She was also given 7 choice maidservants (representing the 7 spirits around the throne of God)

When it came time to come before the king, they other women probably used lots of makeup, too much perfume, incredibly elaborate costumes. Hegai knew what the king wanted, simple beauty. More favor was found, because she was chosen to be the next queen in the 7th year of the king’s reign. Such a party! A month long feast was thrown to celebrate the wedding.

Mordecai discovered a plot to kill the king and he revealed it to Esther to tell the king. The 2  conspiriators were found and hanged. This was recorded in the chronicles of the king.

Wicked Haman, whose name means ‘magnificient’, was a descendant of Amelek, an Agagite. King Saul of the tribe of Benjamin) had been ordered to kill the the line of Amelek, but did not complete his assignment (Exodus 16:16; I Samuel 15; Deuteronomy 25:17-19). Haman had an inherited blood-line hatred for the Jews.

Mordacai would not bow down to anyone except God and that infuriated Haman so much he devised a plot to kill all the Jews. He chose the appointed day by casting lots, called purim. This method of choosing a date was determined also according to astrology, which is foretelling their future by the stars. (Note: Hitler had astrologers on his staff to tell him the best time to kill Jews & go to war; Sadam Hussein consulted astrologers as to when to go to war) Astrology is witchcraft, and should never be confused with astronomy- the science of stars. Larry Huch said he was studying with a Rabbi who told him the numbers of the purim (dice) came up with the numbers 133, which is the numeric number of Agag’s name. However, on the bottom of those purim was the number 644, which is the numeric of King David!

On the 1st month of the year, the month of Nissan, the day was chosen 11 months later (Adar 13) to kill all the Jews. Now in 127 provinces, there was no hope for the future of the Jews. No reason to get married, plant a field, have a
baby. No hope. Mordecai who was forced to write this death verdict, tore his clothes, put on sack cloth and sat outside the king’s gates wailing loudly. A message was sent to Queen Esther to go to the king and plead for the people. Esther replied that according to law, no one could approach the king without being called. Men stood by the king with axes, ready to kill anyone who approached the king. Mordecai’s reply was: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Patrick Henry said “Give me liberty or give me death”; Nathan Hale said, “I only regret that I have but one life to live for my country.” David said, “Is there no cause?”

So Esther chose a new life:

She went from being a beauty queen to a Jewish saint

She went from being a sex symbol to intercessor

She chose to leave the idle life to find high risk adventure

The call of God is anything but dull and boring.  She told Mordecai to have the Jewish people fast for 3 days, complete fast, day and night. On the 3rd day, she went with fear and trembling before the king. Instead of finding death, she
found favor.

She invited the King and wicked Haman to a dinner she had prepared in their honor.

Acrostic #2, (YHWH) 5:4, ‘let the king and Haman come this day’ (name YHWH, showing it was God’s plan, not hers)

As the evening went on, the king asked her the same question that got John the Baptist’s head cut off. “What is your petition? It shall be granted you. What is your request, up to half the kingdom? It shall be done!” Her answer was to invite them to a second feast the next night.

Haman went home so proud of being honored by Queen Esther with the same honor as the king. However, his joy bubble was burst when he passed Mordecai who refused to worship him. He went home dejected and told everything to his wife.

Acrostic #3,  (YHWH)  5:13, ‘this avails me nothing’ (showing God burst Haman’s joy)

Haman’s wife helped devise a plan to kill Mordecai by building a gallow 50 cubits high (7 1/2 stories high). At the same time, God was keeping the king awake and decided to have some of his chronicles read to him. God chose to have
the incident of Mordecai saving his life from death. When he discovered that no reward was given Mordecai, in walk Haman.  The king asked Haman, “”What shall be done for the man whom the king delights to honor?” Now
Haman thought in his heart, “Whom would the king delight to honor more than me?”

Haman, thinking he was going to be honored suggested “let a royal robe be brought which the king has worn, and a horse on which the king has ridden, which has a royal crest placed on its head. Then let this robe and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most noble princes, that he may array the man whom the king delights to honor. Then parade him on horseback through the city square, and proclaim before him: ‘Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!'”

But Haman was trapped into honoring Mordecai in this fashion and went home defeated and angry. First time he went home to his wife he was bragging, now he is whining. Immediately he was summoned to Queen Esther’s 2nd banquet.

After the meal, the king asked Esther again, “What is your petition, Queen Esther? It shall be granted you. And what is your request, up to half the kingdom? It shall be done!”

Esther answered, If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request. For we have been sold, my people and I, to be destroyed, to be killed, and to be annihilated. Had we been sold as male and female slaves, I would have held my tongue, although the enemy could never compensate for the king’s loss.”

4th acrostic, 7:5, (EHYH, I AM) ‘who is he and where is he’, uttered by the king. (God revealing His rule over Kings &
Pharoahs; the same Deliverer as in Egypt) As the king went into the garden to settle his wrath, Haman began to beg
Esther, pleading for his life.

5th & Final acrostic, 7:7, (YHWH), ‘that there was evil determined against him’ (showing God’s ruling over wicked Haman)

As wicked Haman fell across Queen Esther, the king entered the room and Haman’s fate was sealed. He died on the same gallows he had built to hang Mordecai.

Chapter 8:9 is the longest verse in the entire Bible. “So the king’s scribes were called at that time, in the third month, which [is] the month of Sivan, on the twenty-third [day]; and it was written, according to all that Mordecai commanded, to the Jews, the satraps, the governors, and the princes of the provinces from India to Ethiopia, one hundred and twenty-seven provinces [in all], to every province in its own script, to every people in their own
language, and to the Jews in their own script and language.” The law of the Medes and Persians cannot be reversed so a new law was written to override the first proclamation of all the Jews to die on Adar 14. Haman’s law stood 70 days
(symbolic of the Babylonian captivity). Haman sent out runners, King sent out his fastest horses. The Jews would have 9 months to prepare to defend themselves on Adar 13.

Chapter 9 finds a total turnaround. 9:1, “Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month of Adar, on the thirteenth day, the time came for the king’s command and his decree to be executed. On the day that the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, the opposite occurred, in that the Jews themselves overpowered those who hated them.”

All 10 sons of Haman were killed, 300 enemies of the Jews were killed in Susa, 75,000 of the enemies of the Jews were killed throughout all the 127 provinces. None of their wealth was taken by the Jews, no plunder. By the end of
Adar 13, they had a great feast.

Adar 14 & 15 they celebrated with feasting and great joy; giving presents to each other and gifts to the poor. This has become the Feast of Purim, celebrated throughout generations, still today.

The book ends in 10:3, (Hebrew Bible translation) “For Mordekhai the Yehudi (Jew) was next to king Achashverosh, and great among the Yehudim, and accepted of the multitude of his brothers, seeking the good of his people, and speaking shalom to all his seed.”

Tonight as Purim begins, will you stop and pray for the Peace of Jerusalem? (Psalm 122)

The Feast of Purim is a day of joy, family unity, feasting, giving gifts of food to others and gifts to the poor. No one is allowed to be sad, mourn, have funerals, etc. It is a day that the Jews established and God honors. The Book of Esther records the history behind the Feast.

Esther 8:19, “Therefore the Jews of the villages who dwelt in the unwalled towns celebrated the fourteenth day of the month of Adar with gladness and feasting, as a holiday, and for sending presents to one another.” (it is also celebrated in Jerusalem on the 15th)

The Book of Esther takes place in Persia (modern day Iran) when the Jews were in 70 years captivity after the Temple was destroyed in 586 BC. This was the same time period that Ezra & Nehemiah were written. (somewhere around 500 years before Jesus was born)

The Book of Esther begins with: “And it came to pass in the days of…”. In Hebrew it is, v’yahi bemeyi, and it occurs 6 times in the Bible, always marks a time of trouble ending in blessing.

This book is unique because:

1.   The name of God is not mentioned in the entire book (however, the names of God, Jehovah & I AM were in accrostic in 5
phrases in the book- see link
http://www.therain.org/appendixes/app60.html

2.   Esther & Ruth are the only 2 books out of 66 that are named after women

3.   No prophecies, no promises from God, no distinct message from God

4.   No mention of heaven or hell

5.   No prophetic word about Messiah

6.   No reference to worship or faith

7.   Contains the longest verse in the Bible, Esther 8:9

8.   When the 10 sons of Haman are mentioned, 3 of the names have a smaller font of a Hebrew letter included  (taf of Parshandata, the shin of Parmashta and the zayin of Vizata. These three Hebrew letters are the numberic value of 1946, which is the year that 10 of Hitler’s closest leaders were hanged on the 7th day of Tabernacles, when the final judgments are sealed, October 16, 1946. As one named Steichcer was being hung, he screamed, ‘Purim Feast 1946’)

9.   The entire book revolves around feasts and wine, covers a time period of 7-9 years

10. The entire book shows the hidden hand of God working in times of trouble for His covenant people

The key figures are:

King Ahasuerus, whose name means “lion-king“. At the time of the first chapter, his territory covered from India to Egypt, 127 provinces in all. He had just gotten back from a defeat against Greece and had a 6 month-long feast for all the leaders of the provinces to get their respect back and form a great army to follow him to form a great army against Greece. It is followed by a 7 day feast for commoners to boost their moral.

Queen Vashti, whose name means “beautiful”. She was queen in the 3rd year of his reign. As the king entertained she had her separate feasts for the women of the nobility of the 127 provinces. When the king sent for her to come she would notbecause the law of the Persians forbid the wives to be seen by strangers. Because she would not come, the king consulted with the 7 leaders of his kingdom and wise men (astrologers). Memucan, one of those princes, suggested that if the king did not punish her that none of the women would respect their husbands. (1st acrostic found in ‘all the wives shall give’). This ends Vashti from being queen.

Mordecai– Jewish scribe from the tribe of Benjamin. His name means “little man”

Esther– her Persian name means ‘star‘, (Jewish name was Hadassah, which means ‘myrtle’) A myrtle treeis a low tree, representing humility. It is covered with shiny green leaves and adorned with snow white flowers (representing purity) bordered with purple (reprsenting royalty) emitting an equisite perfume. In Hebrew it describes her as ‘lovely in form and beautiful to look at’. Josephus records ‘her grace and countenance drew
the eyes of the spectators mainly upon her’.

Wicked Haman, whose name means ‘magnificient’, was a descendant of Amelek, an Agagite. King Saul (of the tribe of Benjamin) had been ordered to kill the the line of Amelek, but did not complete his assignment
(Exodus 16:16; I Samuel 15; Deuteronomy 25:17-19). Haman had an inherited blood-line hatred for the Jews.

Esther 4:16, “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”

The observing Jews will have a one-day fast in observance of the three-day fast that led to the saving of the entire Jewish nation. Originally the fast of Esther, Mordecai and the entire Jewish nation was observed on the 14-16th of Nissan, which is the Feast of Passover and into the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

The tradition now is a one-day fast observed on the 13th of Adar, the day before the Festival of Purim which falls on the 14th of Adar. This year, since the 13th of Adar falls on Shabbat (Sabbath Day of Friday evening to Saturday evening), the fast is moved to the day before Shabbat.

Purim observances this year (2011)  are:

  • Adar B 11, Fast of Esther from sunup to sundown, Thursday March 17
  • Adar B 14, Purim, Sunday March 20
  • Adar B 15, Sushan Purim, Monday March 21

The fast is observed by all adults from daybreak to sundown. Pregnant of nursing woman or people in ill health are exempted from fasting. Many Jews follow the original three-day fast, and more may be fasting this year than usual with the treats by the enemies of Israel who have vowed to ‘wipe Israel off the map’.

Isaiah 122:6 “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. (7) Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces. (8) For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, “Peace be within
you. (9) Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek your good.”

The original word for peace in the verse is ‘shalom‘, which means wholeness, completeness, peace (from war)- nothing missing, nothing broken, whole-not divided.

Also, please pray for mercy on those who are working against God to divide Jerusalem. They are coming against the Most High God, Almighty God and they will lose, and lose big. Not only them, but the nations they are leading.

Genesis 12:2-3 still are God’s words over the nation of Israel, “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

This year on the Hebrew calendar is a Leap Year and makes it a ‘pregnant year’. The Leap Year cycles happen 7 times in 19 years.

It  is interesting that the last time the moon was closest to the earth was 19 years ago, Adar B, 5752. The moon  will be 221,567 miles from the earth and it is called a lunar perigee.  Perigee means in Latin-Greek, “Closest to the Earth” and refers to a position in an orbit. Apogee means “Farthest from the Earth”.

I always look for connections on the Hebrew calendar when we have unusual heavenly occurances. So what if any connection does this lunar perigee on Purim have with March 1992?

  • Both are Adar II, leap months
  • Both fell on the Jewish Festival of Purim, which is always on the 14th of the month of Adar (Adar B when it is a Leap Year) and being the mid lunar month Purim always has a full moon. Purim in the memorial celebration of God saving the Jews from the plot of wicked Haman, as recorded in the Book of Esther.
  • March 17, 1992 was the Argentina Israeli Embassy Bombing. In the early  afternoon, a three-story Israeli embassy was entirely demolished: ‘a  pickup truck driven by a suicide bomber and loaded with explosives  smashed into the front of the Israeli Embassy. The embassy, a Catholic church, and a  nearby school building were destroyed.’
  • March 21, 1992, The Financial Times says one sensitive issue hovering in the  background of Sharon’s visit to Washington is that of his  country’s controversial arms relationship with China. Israel’s  most recent planned sale of high-tech weaponry to Beijing was the  “cause of a rare public spat with the US during the premiership of  Ehud Barak”. The dispute last year involved Israel’s contract  to supply Beijing with the Phalcon airborne early warning radar system  developed by Elta, a subsidiary of Israel Aircraft Industries. The deal  was frozen after a congressional committee protested, amid threats to  cut military aid to Israel, that the sale would give China a military  edge over Taiwan. …
  • The Israeli Knesset passed the Basic Law: Human Dignity and Liberty. The first line of the law states, “The purpose of this Basic Law is to protect human dignity and liberty, in order to establish in a Basic Law the values of the State of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state” http://www.knesset.gov.il/laws/special/eng/basic3_eng.htmIt is amazing that 19  years later a family can be butchered in Israel just for being Jews.  One of those murdered was a 3 month-old baby girl. Arab terrorists murdered five people in a family in the Jewish community of Itamar, in northeast Samaria, around 9 p.m. Friday night, Shabbat. Pray for the Peace of Jerusaelm, Psalm 122:6)

American Indians called the lunar perigee “Full Worm Moon” because the earth is getting warmer and the earth worms again become active. This moon has also been known as the “Full Crow Moon”, the “Full Crust Moon”, and the “Full Sap Moon”.

The position of the moon affects the tide, which is very familiar to us on the Gulf Coast. However, I did not know the affect it had on the earth (land)  until I found that underground miners are aware of the lunar cycles, connecting them to mining disasters.

The are many fears of this causing more earth catrosphies are flying on the internet. The science of astronomy does not link earthquakes with the lunar perigee but with the intense earth quake and volcano cycles we are experiencing anything can happen.

God has not given us a ‘spirit of fear’, which terrorizes, but ‘power, love and a sound mind.’ (I Tim 1:7)  Effective, fervrent prayers  (James 5:16)  are always done in faith, not fear.   May we all take our positions of kings and priests unto God(Rev 1:6, 5:10)  as stand in the gap (Ez 22:30) for the innocent, such as those who are suffering in Japan. Those that know their God shall be strong and do expoits. (Daniel 11:32)

Last thought, please do not get caught sidetracted at watching the heavens so much that your focus of worship is on the creation, not the Creator. Romans 1:20-21 is a warning also for us today. Worship God and hear Him. He will ‘fine tune’ you from your prayer time to discern what is the best use of your time.

We are now seeing first hand the Signs of the Times and we are now experiencing pre-Tribulation birth pains. I truly believe that the Signs in the Heavens are connected with the signs in the earth, ie., earthquakes, tsunamis, volcano eruptions.
The current solar flare cycle 24 has escalated faster and stronger than anticipated. Last year as the cycle began to climb we immediately saw the 7.0 earthquake in Haiti, followed by the 8.8 earthquake in Chili, then the volcano in Iceland which brought travel in eastern Europe to a halt. Next we had the shifting of the Gulf that caused the BP Oil Spill. Since the first of last year, when the cycle 24 solar flares began to escalate, we have seen a marked increase of earth disasters.  We have just experienced a major disaster when Japan was hit with a 8.9 earthquake  was so violent that it  moved the island of Japan 8 miles and moved the earth off its axis, causing our days to be shortened. Do we find this happening in Revelation? Yes, in chapter 6:12-15. These heavenly signs will affect the earth to the extent that it will affect 7 structures of creation and 7 classes of mankind.

Seven structure of creation affected

Earthquake, great (megas) earthquake (seismos)
Sun, will become back as sackcloth (solar eclipse)
Moon, became like blood (lunar eclipse)
Stars, fell to the earth (aster), asteroids, meteorites
Sky/heavens, receded, split apart (perhaps giant vacuum of a nuclear blast- mushroom cloud?)
Mountain, every mountain moved out of its place
Island, every island moved out of its place
Isaiah 13:13, Therefore I will shake the heavens, And the earth will move out of her place, In the wrath of the LORD of hosts And in the day of His fierce anger.
Isaiah 24:20, The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, And shall totter like a hut

Seven classes of mankind affected- all classes, no one excluded
  1. Kings of the earth (rulers, leaders)
  2. Great men (nobles, chief men)
  3. Rich men (wealthy)
  4. Commanders (GR- chiliarch, a commander of a thousand soldiers)
  5. Mighty men (dynatos) mighty, powerful, strong
  6. Slaves, work force (those who work for others)
  7. Free men (those who work for themselves)
The earth has shifted to the point that GPS has been affected and need to recalculate, it affects flight patterns, etc.  The days are going to be shorter now because of the change to our earth’s axis being affected, which connect it to Matthew 24:22 & Mark 13:20 both say the days are going to be shortened.
I believe these are the ‘beginning of birth pains’, as written in I Thessalonians 5. When the solar flare cycle begins to go down after March 2013, the war-like conflicts, the earth groanings will decrease and people will be saying “peace, peace”.
Following  that, in 2014 and 2015 there will be four back-to-back ‘blood red moons’ on the Feast Days of Passover and Tabernacles. (Of the Seven Feasts of the Lord, as listed in Leviticus 23, only 2 fall on mid month with a full moon and qualify for a possible lunar eclipse)  According to the NASA eclipse charts and lining it with the Feast Days, there have only been 7 Tetrads since 1 AD (7 including the coming in 2014-2015) . There were no back-to-back eclipses on Passover and Tabernacles in the 1600’s, 1700’s or 1800’s.
The Tetrad of 2014, 2015  will be the last ‘tetrad‘ (meaning 4) blood moons on Feast Days in our century. Other tetrads were:
  • Following 1492, Spanish Inquisition, when Spain expelled all Jews from Spain under the threat of death
  • Following 1948, when Israel became a nation
  • Following 1967, when Jerusalem came back into the hands of the Jews

Personally, I do not think we are IN the Tribulation yet, but previews of coming events that will intensify. I am eagerly looking forward to the Great Harvest and promised Great Awakening!!! WATCH AND PRAY!!!

I Chronicles 12:32, “And of the children of Issachar, [which were men] that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.” The Hebrew calendar is lunar and to keep up with the correct annual solar cycle they add one month 7 times in 19 years.  The year is called “Shana Meuberet” (literally, “a pregnant year“), or a Leap Year.

The Tribe of Issachar was gifted with an understanding of heaven’s cycle patterns and timings. If the Tribe did not keep Israel with the correct timings, they would have missed their “fixed, appointed, times with God”, which are better known as The Feasts of the Lord. All men were to travel to Jerusalem at the Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles Feast seasons.

The 13 month year follows a pattern of  3, 6, 8, 11, 14, 17 or 19. The current year on the Hebrew calendar is 5771, counting from Adam’s birth. That means that the next Leap Month on the Hebrew calendar will be 5774, which is in 3  years.

When there is a ‘pregnant year’, the month of Adar would become Adar 1 and the second month Adar 2. They are also shown as Adar Aleph or Adar A & Adar Bet or Adar B .

In the case of a leap year the Feast of Purim would fall on Adar B, always being the month before Passover.

Adar is called the Most Joyous Month on the Hebrew  Calendar, which means that this year we have 2 months to be joyful. The theme is ‘When Adar Comes Joy Is Increased’. If we keep our eyes on God and His promises we will have great joy, if we look at the current news you will lose joy.

One of the most joyous celebrations of the year fall on Adar, which is the memorial Feast of Purim. The entirety of the scroll of Esther is read on Purim, Adar 14. The scroll begins with Esther 1:1, “And it came to pass in the days of….“. This phrase is mentioned six times in the Bible and it always markes a time of trouble ending with blessing. The times when Esther was queen marked a time when the enemy of God schemed to wipe all the Jews off the earth. INSTEAD, the enemies of God were defeated and the Jews have another excuse to praise God every year!!! (I will have a full teaching on this blog before Purim)

Six months from now will be the Hebrew month of Av, the most dreaded month on the Hebrew calendar. If anything bad is going to happen with Israel it normally would be around this time. (The Dire Straights set of 2 CDs in available for sale on our website and tells of the entire story around Av and the dreadful happenings associated with the month of Av)

In my research the Tribe of Naphtali was listed for both Adars, but in my research for the Signs in the Heavens Levi has this leap month. If it is true that Pisces is the constellation for  both months of Adar it may be because the constellation of Pisces has 2 fish. (I will have to do further research on this and will correct this article when I complete my study)

Luke 21:25, “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; (bolding and underlining are from me for emphasis)
Amplified Bible– And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars; and upon the earth [there will be] distress (trouble and anguish) of nations in bewilderment and perplexity [without resources, left wanting, embarrassed, in doubt, not knowing which way to turn] at the roaring (the echo) of the tossing of the sea.
What we are experiencing on the earth right now has much to do with the current Solar Flare Cycle 24.  NASA published that it began in January 2008, but now it is estimated to peak at Solar Max in 2012, some say March to May 2013.  This present solar flare cycle is likened to the Great Solar Storm of 1859 (aka Solar Superstorm, Carrington Event)
During the Great Solar Storm of 1859, it is recorded that telegraph offices were set on fire. In early September 1859, telegraph wires suddenly shorted out in the United States and Europe, igniting widespread fires. Colorful aurora, normally visible only in the polar regions, were seen as far south as Rome and Hawaii. [It is interesting to note that 2012-1859 is 153, the same number of fish caught in the net in John 21:11]
As I was looking up earthquake and volcano patterns associated with solar cycles, escpecially around 1859,  I found something very interesting- the Ansei Great Earthquakes of 1854 to 1860. Ansei is a Japanese term that means ‘tranquil government’, created to herald the beginning of a peaceful period to begin November  1854. The following happenings were anything but peaceful:
  1. November 4-7, 1854, quakes and tsunamis killed 80,000 in Japan
  2. Ansei – Tokai Quake- 8.4, December 23, 1854
  3. Ansei-Nankai Quake- 8.4, December 24,1854
  4. Ansei-Edo Quake 6.9, November 11, 1855
  5. There were recorded 120 quakes between 54-55

These solar storms have a profound effect on the planet and also the people. Wars heat up, the solar flares bring out the heat from our earth core and cause earth quakes & volcano activity.

Because we have become such a technology dependent generation, the main issue of the solar peak is our sattelite and communication systems. There are currently 900 ‘active’ sattelites, 438 of them are of the United States: civil, commercial, government & military. The worst case senario would be for the flares to affect the power grids on earth and the satellites in the heavenlies and leave us without power and communication for up to 18 months. Last Monday’s flare knocked out commication in southern China.
The geomagnetic, 17-Year Cycle (every 3 phases of the 11-Year Sunspot Cycle closely correlates to every 2 phases of the 17-Year Cycle) also time economic depressions, stock market collapses, banking failures, currency destabilization, earth disturbances, etc.

Call of Abraham & birth of Israel

The first of 2 months of Adar begins this Friday night at sundown.  The first day of the month is called Rosh Chodesh, which means ‘the head of the month’.

This year the Hebrew calendar has a leap year and adds another month of Adar. Both are called the 12th month and one is called Adar Aleph (A or 1) and the second month is called Adar Bet (B or 2). In the lunar Hebrew calendar,  there is a leap year 7 times in 19 years. When there is a leap year the Festival of Purim is on Adar 2, always being the month before Passover. The first month of Adar still has a Purim remembrance, but it is called PURIM KATAN – Little Purim. The 14th and 15th of Adar 1 on a leap year are traditionally called “Little Purim”. On these days also one is supposed to celebrate, is forbidden to mourn or fast and omits certain prayers.

“When Adar arrives, we increase our joy”. Jewish Talmud- Taanit 29a

Adar is the 12th month on the Jewish calendar and represents completion of a cycle (yr). The sages say that this is the best month to try to remove your personal barriers to holiness, thereby creating potential for great joy.  Adar gives us keys to victory, that will bring hope producing faith to be victorious over any opposition, both personally or nationally. YEAH!!!!

The name Adar  is found as a proper masculine name as a descendant of Benjamin or a city in Judah. (many patterns about the Church are found in the life of Benjamin).  The name means “exceeding glorious“.  The word Adar as a month is found in Ezra 6:15 and numerous times in the Book of Esther and means ‘glorious.  The Lexicon comments that ‘perhaps this month is so-called from the flowers and trees being so splendidly covered with leaves’.   Since we have 2 months of Adar, I am expecting 2 months full of  double favor and multiplied glory!!!    And I am expecting for Israel to have double honor instead of shame!!   These are double blessing months so expect the favor of God to come into every and all of your areas of attack. THIS ARE THE MONTHS OF FOR KINGS AND PRIEST UNTO GOD TO DECLARE AND DECREE  INSTEAD!! (See Isaiah 61)

Purim is very important to watch because it falls on a full moon, middle of the lunar month. Only The Feasts of the Lord of Passover and Tabernacles fall on a full moon and qualify for a possible ‘blood moon’. (Joel 3:21)   NASA projects there will be a lunar eclipse (blood moon) on Passover & Tabernacles 2014 & 2015.   That back-to-back eclipse cycle is called a Tetrad,  and it is an incredible sign to watch for when it falls on God’s fixed appointed Feast Days.   Note: There were no astronomical back-to-back blood-red moon events in the 1800’s, the 1700’s or the 1600’s. In the 1500’s there were six, but none fell on Passover or Tabernacles. The 2014/2015 events will be the last in this century.    In 1492 following Spain kicking the Jews out of the country or death by Av 9 (the most dreaded day on the Jewish calendar) a Tetrad followed, Passover and Tabernacles 1493 & 1494 (full blood moons on each). Other years there were back-to-back blood red moons on Passover & Tabernacles followed the 1948 War of Independence and  the 1967 Six Day War.

The most eclipses (solar and lundar) that can occur in one year to fit with the Jewish Feasts & Holy Days is seven, and that would have to include Purim.   Two times in our century there were 7 eclipses in one year, 1917 and 1973.   In 1917 Communism settled into the world, Balfour Declaration allowed Jews back to their homeland, General Allenby took Jerusalem away from the Turks after a 400 year rule without a shot fired.  In 1973 was the Yom Kippur War, the famous Oil Embargo, President Nixon left the office in disgrace and 27 nations were in famine. 2014-2015 we will see 7 eclipses in one year, all of Jewish Feast & Holy Days.

It is interesting  that today Russia’s crops have gone into failure because of the incredible heat and drought and were unable to plant the winter wheat and Australia’s crops are under water.  In addition, Egypt is very much in the news and it is so clearly connected with Israel.   (Do you know the Hebrew word for coincidence? There is none!!!) Remember, History repeats itself.

Some of the Month of Adar History & Happenings

Adar 1-Ezekiel 32, Ezekiel received the word of the Lord of lamentation for  Pharaoh & Egypt, Elam (Iran) mentioned [expect troubled systems to be troubled by Almighty God]

Adar 3– Ezra 6:15, the Temple repairs were done after the 70 year captivity in Babylon (515 BC) [expect restoration]

Adar 4- 1992, Death of former Israel Prime Minister Menachem Begin who signed the 1979 peace treaty with Egypt

Adar 5- 1957, Israel withdrew troops from Gaza Strip and Sinai Peninsula. This followed the Suez Wr of 1956, in which France, Britain and Israel teamed up to stop Egyptian interference with shipping through the Suez Canal. In response to the Suez War, the Egyptian government expelled 25,000 Egyptian Jews and confiscated their property, and sent 1,000 more Jews to prisons and detention camps.

Adar 6,  Moses completed his farewell address to the Hebrew children and God (Deut 31:14). Amazingly, the anniversary of Moses’ completing his teaching coincides with the date in 1482 of the first printing of the standard format used for Jewish Bibles today.

Adar 7– Birth day of Moses, also day he died 120 years later [expect deliverance]

Adar 10- 1980, Israel and Egypt exchanged ambassadors, marking a new era of cordial diplomacy.

Adar 13– Nicanor Day, remembrance of the defeat of wicked Syrian Nicanor by the Maccabees in 161 BC (Josephus Antiquities Book 12, Chapter 10, pt 5) [expect your enemies to be overthrown]

Adar 13, 2003Eve of Purim, March 17, 2003- President George W. Bush announces War on Iraq (12 Purims after Iraq war under President Bush, Sr)

Adar 14in 1991 Saddam Hussein tried to rain missiles down on Israel and was defeated on Purim [First Gulf War under President George Bush Sr]  [expect God to do it again if Israel would fall under attack]

Adar 18- 1953, Death of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. Historians contend that Stalin was preparing a Soviet-wide pogrom, a ‘Second Holocaust’, but the scheme was cancelled upon Stalin’s death.

Adar 20- Special Torah reading regarding the Red Heifer cleansing (Numbers 19:2) This is for the special purifying before Passover (I’m not sure but I believe this will be in Adar 2 instead of this month)

Adar 26, Marks the death of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon in 561 BC.

Adar 271979,  Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat signed the Camp David Peace Agreement at the White House. Sadat had orchestrated the Egyptian attack on Israel in the 1973 Yom Kippur War, but after suffering defeat he became resigned to Israel’s existence. As part of the Camp David deal, Israel withdrew from the entire Sinai Peninsula. For forging this first peace agreement between Israel and an Arab state, Sadat and Begin were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Much of the Arab world was outraged by Sadat’s overtures toward Israel, and he was assassinated by a Muslim extremist in 1981.

In the month of Adar women begin  Spring Housecleaning in preparation for Passover & the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Everything will be spotless and all leaven removed before Nisan 14. (Fall house cleaning is done in preparation for Rosh Hashanah 6 months later) Both Spring and Fall house cleaning began with these Jewish events. (This year I get two months to clean, expect double cleansing)

Just as Elijah kept sending his servant to look for clouds of rain- expect your miracle and don’t give up. If you don’t see God working it is because He is working behind the scenes, hidden like in the Book of Esther.

The Dakes Bible comments on page 516: It has been observed by many that the name of God is not found in the book of Esther. This is more remarkable in view of the fact that the 167 verses of the book, the king is mentioned 192 times; his kingdom 26 times; and his title Ahasuerus [Mary’s note- his name means ‘silent and poor] is given 29 times. Howver, In the ancient Hebrew text there were 5 places where the name of God was hidden, being abbreviated JHVH for JeHoVah, 4 times, and EHYEH (I AM THAT I AM) once. These letters were used as acrostics in certain statements, and in 3 of the MSS, they were written larger than the rest of the text so that they stood out boldly on the scroll. The statements wherein these letters occurred in the Hebrew text are: 1- all the wives shall give, uttered by Haman (1:20) 2- Let the king and Haman come this day, uttered by Esther (5:4) 3- This avails me nothing, uttered by Haman (5:13) 4- That there was evil determined against him, uttered by author of Esther (7:7) 5- Who is he, and where is he (7:5) This is where the acrostic EHYEH was used while in the above points JHVH was used.

TRIBE- NAPHTALI

Naphtali is the 6th son of Jacob and the 2nd son of Rachel’s handmaid. Naphtali means to ‘wrestle’ and comes from his birth as Rachel proclaims, “With great wrestlings I have wrestled with my sister, and indeed I have prevailed.” So she called his name Naphtali.” Those from that Tribe do not look for a fight, but when they do enter into a fight they win. For this reason the Tribe of Naphtali makes great intercessors. Their banner symbol is that of a hine. A hine is a 3-year-old red deer. The unique thing about a hine is that it has no gall bladder. Gall is symbolic of bitterness and an intercessor cannot carry bitterness and win. One of the heroes from Naphtali’s lineage was Barak from Judges 4-5, who battled alongside Deborah. The men from that tribe are masculine, but not intimidated by women in ministry. The weakness of the tribe  is compromise. Since they do not like to fight they did not drive out the enemy on their alloted land in the Promised Land and eventually were full of idol worshippers. His land was north by Lebanon and was one of the first of the Lost Tribes sent into dispersion and captivity. (Don’t compromise with your weakness and enemy, you will win the fight if you press in to defeat the enemy one and for all)

HEBREW LETTER- KAF (pronounced kaf) This is the 11th letter with the numerical value of 20. It is a pictograp of a wing or an open hand symboizing 1) to allow 2) to cover 3) to open.

Kaf also looks like a mask. It is interesting that the festival of Mardis Gras is usually in the month of Adar. It is also the month that Queen Esther revealed her true identity as a Jew, removing the so-called Gentile mask she had been wearing. It is time to remove all human, man-made masks of your self worth and reveal who you are in Christ.

Each of the stanzas of Psalm 119:81-88 begin with Kaf and teach us when we cry out to God in a time of need. It is not the hand of man that will bring us help in a time of need, but our loving Father who is waiting for us to ask.

The literal meaning is of a ‘palm’ which is considered the location where potential of Yod (hand). For this reason we bless children with palms facing them asd we envision God as having His palms over us.

KAF words: (1) Yes- (Kaf Noon), yes (ken) is to open your hand to life or activity (2) Priest (Ken Hey- in center of yes) Ko-hen, placing HEY in the heart of yes (ken) tells us the job of a priest is to reveal the heart of the ‘yes’. (3) To Forgive(Kaf Pey Reysh) To Atone- (kee-per), forgiveness comes when, instead of pronouncing judgment, you cover the mouth of the person.:

Constellation- Pisces, The Fishes (Hebrew, Dagim)  This constellation always represented Israel, who were strangers and pilgrims on this earth, looking for a heavenly city whose builder and maker is God. However, the symbol of the Church is a fish. So, these 2 fish, one swimming heaven-ward & one swimming on the path of the sun represent Israel and the Church, the Old Covenant and the New Covenant- the one new man spoken of in  Ephesians 2:15. The two fish are held together by a cord called ‘al Risha’, which means ‘a common bond’.

Jesus is what ties the two together. He did not come to destroy the law and the prophets, but fulfill them (Mt 5:17). Prominent stars of the 113 that make up the constellation are, Okda (Hebrew) meaning ‘the united’; Al Samaca (Arabic) ‘the upheld’.

Isaiah 41:10b, “Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand“. The Church is forever tied to Israel. Pray for the Peace (shalom, nothing missing, nothing broken) of Jerusalem. They shall prosper that love thee (Ps 122:6)

This is a special month on a special year. We should expect favor to come our way, for our mountains to be thrown into the sea and be ready to shout ‘instead’ at every attack of the evil one. To God be the glory!!

Adar 14-15- (February 18-19, 2011) Little Purim, There are no funerals, eulogies, mourning or fasting allowed on this day- only joy, laughter & feasting!  [Rejoice in expectation of  your mess become a message and your test to become your testimony of God’s faithfulness]

The Hebrew month of Shvat began tonight at sundown and is 30 days long, concluding sundown, February 4, 2011. At that time we begin 2 MONTHS OF ADAR (ADAR A (Adar 1) & ADAR B (Adar 2). Since the year of 5771 is a leap year they add an entire month 7 times in a 19 year cycle

Shvat is a month for stirring our zeal for Jerusalem and our awareness and cooperation with heavenly messengers. The understanding of the angels this month is taken from the only time Shevat (aka S’vat, Shebat, Shvat) is mentioned in the Bible, Zechariah 1:7, where angels had been patrolling, watching, around the world and seemed quiet. However, the Lord of Hosts released a warning that he was angry with the nations and that anger was related to their actions towards Jerusalem. He continues, “I am exceeding jealous for Jerusalem and Zion.” In this vision Zechariah sees the four horses of Revelation.

Every Hebrew month has a Tribe, Constellation and Hebrew letter associated with it. These hold keys to our promises for that month and help us to pray in line with God’s timing and to get our lives into time with His specific appointed times.

Shevat (shev-at) is known as the ‘eleventh month’ in the Bible according to the Biblical Calendar and is the fifth month on the civil calendarThe word Shevat is not a Jewish word, but a word coming most likely from Babylon. The word means ‘rod’, which is a symbol of judgment to God’s enemies. For us, we find the rod and the staff of our Shepherd as a comfort (Ps 23:4). As we walk through these dark last days we find comfort that the Lord, Jehovah Rohi, is protecting us with His rod and staff.

The 15th of the month of Shevat is called Tu B’Shvat, the “New Year of Trees”, which is the Jewish Arbor Day. No fruit is allowed to be eaten from a tree under three years old. Tu B’Shvat is celebrated by eating some of the varieties of fruit found in Israel (dates, pomegranates, figs, grapes). Food is made from dried fruit and gifts of fruit are often given and received. This is also a celebration for the Tree of Life, which symbolizes the Messiah., who gives true life. The first blooming in Israel is the almond, and this week the almonds were blooming in the birth site of John. (Hmm, days of Elijah?) Nehemiah 10:35, “And to bring the firstfruits of our ground, and the firstfruits of all fruit of all trees, year by year, unto the house of the LORD.” This is one of the four Jewish new years.

Letter: Tzadik the 18th letter in the Aleph Bet with the numerical value of 90 (a number representing fullness of life, Ps 90:10, Sarah was 90 when she became pregnant with Isaac).  In the classic Hebrew script it looks like a tree. The word tzadik means ‘righteousness or righteous one’.  The pictograph of this letter is of a man lying down and represents need.  Tzadi got its name from the shape of a ‘fishing hook’ because the root is tzod meaning ‘to hunt, catch, capture’.  Another meaning of the letter in the sofit form is of a faithful servant with his arms raised before the LORD in humility, therefore representing the righteous ones. The entire chapter of Psalm 119 has a Hebrew letter assigned to each section or stanza.  The eighteenth stanza, verses 137-144 warn us that we can be hooked by trouble, desire and righteousness. Lift up your hands in submission to our Lord Jesus Christ in every area.

Heavenly Sign: Aquarius– ‘The Water Bearer’. This represents the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The symbol is shown of a man, symbolizing Jesus Christ who physically poured forth literal waters from an inexhaustible source, removing the curse and turning the world into a paradise. Expect a refreshing of the Holy Spirit this month.

Tribe: Asher, means ‘happy’, 8th son of Jacob and 2nd son of handmaiden Zilpah. His symbol is a fruitful olive tree.  This symbol is given to Asher because of the abundance of joy that comes from the Holy Spirit. It is not that Asher never had problems, but he was able to overcome all of the problems, making lemonade out of every lemon situation. Asher is fearless, optimistic and has the strength to go to hard or dangerous places. Asher loves strong teaching and preaching. An Asherite can bring forth a hard word from God, but it will be easy to receive, you will receive it with joy. Anna the prophetess of Luke 2:36-38 is of this tribe. Dip you foot in the oil (Deut 33:23-25) of the Holy Ghost this month and expect God to make you fruitful in every area. (It is interesting to note this past week Israel  discovered a huge natural gas field, the largest field to date. The fields are found in the territory given to the Tribe of Asher and the oil field is called Leviathan)

HISTORICAL DATES IN SHEVAT

  • Shevat 1– Anniversary of Moses’ last message to the Hebrew people as recorded in Deuteronomy. This concludes 37 days later on Adar 7. Deuteronomy 1:3 is the only time the 11th month is mentioned in the Bible.
  • Shevat 1– Many believe this was the date of the plague of locusts (Exodus 10:12)
  • Shevat 3– Jewish mourners attacked in Fostat, Egypt, 1012.
  • Shevat 3– Hitler was appointed chancellor of Germany, 1933.
  • Shevat 3– The same day saw the founding of the Society of Youth Aliya, which brought the Israel over 115,000 children 12-16
  • Shevat 5– Jews of Sicily and Naples were invited to return (having been expelled previously) by Charles the Bourbon, 1740.
  • Shevat 6– Jews of Majorca were guaranteed protection, 1393. This was “forgotten” about 20 years later, when persecution started up again. 20 years after that, the Jewish community was destroyed
  • Shevat 10– Shabbat Shirah (The Sabbath of Song) The Sabbath that the Torah reading begins B’Shalach (“When he let go”) is the only reading with the Song of Moses, a song of great victory after crossing the Red Sea. Revelation 15:3 records that we will be singing the Song of Moses as we celebrate the victory over the beast around the Sea of Glass.
  • Shevat 12– Nazis provoked the first anti-Jewish riots in Amsterdam, 1941. The Jews successfully fought off their attackers. Two years later, 1943, to the day (12 Shvat), Jews in the Warsaw ghetto put up their fist resistance to the Nazi effort at liquidation. We years later, to the day, the Russian army liberated 2819 survivors of Auschwitz.
  • Shevat 15– Tu B’Shvat, the “New Year of Trees”, which is the Jewish Arbor Day.
  • Shevat 19– Jews of Basle were burned alive, 1349, in wooden houses constructed for that purpose.
  • Shevat 22– Nazis raided the Jewish community of Amsterdam and seized 429 young Jews for deportation, 1941.
  • Shevat 23– First transport of Jews to concentration camps, 1941.
  • Shevat 30– Jews of Rome had been subjected to a humiliating medieval practice of running a race in the Roman carnivals, scantily clad, amid insults and blows. This practice of “Black Monday” (the day of the weekly carnival) ended in 1667.

From my study linking the Hebrew letter, Tribe and heavenly sign I conclude that this month is for us to be like a tree, lifting out heavenly branches to our Lord Jesus Christ, expecting a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit. With that fresh anointing, cry out for mercy for our country’s part in the decisions that are being made regarding Jerusalem and continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

  • Isaiah 52:8, But I [am] like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
  • Psalm 1:3, And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
  • Psalm 92:12, The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon
  • Proverbs 15:4, A wholesome tongue [is] a tree of life: but perverseness therein [is] a breach in the spirit.
  • Jeremiah 17:8,  For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and [that] spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

The meteor shower of January 3, 2011 is expected to be the best meteor show of 2011. One interesting fact according to my research, before a great awakening there were incredible meteor showers. This show is expected to be about 120 meteors per hour (aka ‘shooting stars’). The normal is 6-10 per hour on a typical night.

The meteor shower of November 13, 1833, before a spiritual awakening was recorded so thick, as extensive, so long lasting, that thousands feared the planet was doomed, ‘the whole firmament, over all the United States, being then, for [eight] hours in fiery commotion’… Meteor showers of 60,000 per hour Astronomers predict that the Quadrantids will peak around 8 p.m. EST January 3. That time works best for Europe, but North American meteor-watchers should also keep an eye out because predicting meteor showers isn’t an exact science yet. New Moon occurs at 4:03 a.m. EST January 4, so no distracting moonlight will pollute the sky.

REVIEW

Meteoroid is a rock in space from an asteroid or comet orbiting the sun.

A meteor is what the rock becomes when it hits the atmosphere (It is often called a ‘shooting star’ or ‘falling star’)

A meteorite is what remains of it, should it survive the journey and hit earth

2011 will be nothing to compare to that, but will be fun to see. Those in the southern areas need only to recline in their lawn chairs and watch the show (if you are away from city lights). No binoculars or telescope are needed and you won’t have to wait up for it. Peak Central time should be 7pm.
