Pentecost Sundown 6/7/11 (8th & 9th) Ends Sundown 6/9/11. On the Hebrew calendar it is Sivan 6-7, 5771. This is now celebrated as a 2 day Feast since the Rabbis could not agree if Moses went up the mountain on the 6th or 7th of Sivan. This is the 4th of the 7 Feasts listed by God for Israel to keep forever. (Lev 23).

Each of the Seven Feasts of the Lord has a harvest season:

  • Passover is in the spring and is during the barley harvest. It includes the Feast of Unleavened Bread and Feast of First Fruits.
  • Pentecost is in the summer and is the wheat harvest.
  • Tabernacles is the fall and is the grape harvest. It includes Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement and Feast of Tabernacles.

An interesting note from the Carta’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of the Holy Temple of Jerusalem by Chaim Richman from page 249: ‘The Mishnah (Taanit 28a) describes how once, in days of the Second Temple, the Roman Empire enacted a decree which outlawed the bringing of firstfruits to Jerusalem. In order to enforce this law, roadblocks were set up on the routes leading to the Holy City.” (My thoughts, did this happen after the Holy Ghost fell in Acts 2 and they were afraid it would happen again?) Because of this, they began bringing their firstfruits on Av 15, when all the seven firstfruits of the season had ripened.

Many Christians ask the question of what is the difference between the Jewish Pentecost and Christian Pentecost Sunday.  The answer is simple,  Jewish Pentecost follows 50 days after the 2nd day of Passover. The Christian Pentecost follows 7 weeks after Easter Sunday. The calendar that God instituted in Exodus 12 is  a lunar calendar and this is the calendar to follow to keep aligned with God’s Feast seasons and His signs for these last days.

FEAST NAMES

  • Shavu’ot – This is the main Hebrew name, meaning ‘weeks‘, representing the 7 weeks following the 2nd day of Passover when the omer begins to be counted.
  • Pentecost– Greek, pente means 50, representing the Holy Day following 50 days after Passover
  • Festival of Weeks– Chag HaShavuot
  • Festival of the Giving of the Torah (Chag Mattan Torateinu)
  • The Day of First Fruits– Yom HaBikurim, Numbers 28:26, when the firstfruits of the wheat harvest is brought to the Temple
  • Feast of the Wave Loaves– Leviticus 23:17. During the times of the Temple, the priests would wave two loave of bread, baked with the fine wheat flour. NOTE: records show the leavened loaves each had 4 lbs of flour (½ gal) and were 28″ long.

BIBLICAL HISTORY OF PENTECOST

Exodus 19-20. Exodus 19 begins with “In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they [into] the wilderness of Sinai.” The counting of the months began in Exodus 12:2 when God told Moses, “This month [shall be] unto you the beginning of months: it [shall be] the first month of the year to you. ” This began God’s calendar, known as the biblical calendar. The other calendar, which I call the civil calendar,  begins 6 months later in the month of Tishri when the Hebrew year changes, following the years since Adam’s birth.

God told Moses, as recorded  in Exodus 3:12, “And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this [shall be] a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain“. The Hebrew children left Egypt the day after the first Passover and they were now at the mountain to meet with God, 44 days later. Now they were to prepare themselves and wait for God’s appointed meeting.

On the 3rd day, God spoke to the Hebrew children from the mountain.  Ex 19:16, “And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that [was] in the camp trembled. (18) And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. (19) And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.” At this time they were orally given by God the 10 Commandments, but they were fearful of God of God and told Moses to talk to God for them. On the 6th day Moses went up the mountain and did not come back for 50 days.

  • This is known as the time when Moses was given the Torah.
  • This is also when God made covenant with Israel. He made covenant with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the land- but now His covenant is also with the entire nation. This is when the nation of Israel was born.
  • This is considered to be the time of God’s marriage to Israel since marriage is a covenant relationship.
  • More information is recorded in Exodus 19 & 20, 23:15-19; Leviticus 23:16; Deut 26:5-11;  Ruth 2:23

During the time of the Temples they would bring their firstfruits of wheat to the Temple and present them to the Lord. They would recite Deuteronomy 26:5-11 to the priest, present the basket at the altar and law prostrate before the Lord.

On Pentecost Exodus 19-20 is read and the Scroll of Ruth is read in its entirety. The beautiful story of Redemption is found in Ruth and it takes place during the wheat harvest (Pentecost). It is a recording of Ruth and the kinsman redeemer Boaz, the only one who could redeem the land Naomi’s family lost and save her and Naomi. It is also a joining of a Gentile & Jew – traditionally the marriage of Ruth & Boaz was on Pentecost. King David’s beginnings- believed to have been born and died on Feast of Shavuot (70 yrs) and is the great-grandchild of Ruth and Boaz.

On this day meals include dairy and honey, representing the promise of a land full of milk and honey. Mothers will dip their finger in honey and touch the baby’s tongue, telling them ‘God’s word is as sweet as honey’.

Tradition is to stay up all night studying the promises in God’s word regarding opening heavens. Scriptures included Joel 2, Zech 12:10a, Isaiah 44:3, Ezekiel 1:4; 3:12-13; 36:26-27.

In services of Sephardic Jewish congregations read a ketuba, ‘wedding contract’ . Pentecost being the marriage covenant to Israel.

Solar eclipses happen when the moon covers the sun and there is darkness on the earth during the time when the sun should be shining. This happens when there is ‘no’ noon, at the beginning or end of a lunar calendar month.

What was so unusual about this eclipse?

  • It happened at ‘midnight’ instead of during the day. The eclipse covered the northern countries below the North Pole who are in a period of sun day and night. At midnight they were still light and they were able to experience this spectacular event
  • It covered 2 days.  It began early Thursday (June 2) over northeast Asia, but actually ended Wednesday night because its narrow path of visibility — where skywatchers could see the event — crossed the International Date Line. This means the eclipse went backwards to the day before!  Interesting note: June 1st was Jerusalem Day- the 44th anniversary of Jerusalem coming back into the hand of Israel.
  • This type of ‘midnight‘ solar eclipse will not take place again until 2084.
  • June 1st eclipse is the first of 3 that will happen within 30 days. (June 15- total lunar, July 1- solar)

Watch for my posting of the June 15 Blood Moon over Jerusalem.

Note: 4 times in Mark 13 Jesus told us to ‘watch’ as He told them what would happen in the last days. This is my report as a ‘watcher’.

I have studied the heavenly signs of the Second Coming of the Lord since early 1990s when I read Marilyn Hickey’s book called Signs in the Heavens. As a Christian, I thought watching and studying the heavens (astronomy)  was full of witchcraft because of those who looked at the constellations to decide how to live their lives (astrology). Once I read Hickey’s book, I came into a new understanding of why God created the “fixed stars”, which we know as Constellations.

I studied, read, and researched everything the Bible had to say about the heavens.  I clipped out every heavenly occurrence when there was an important happening in Israel, but was not released to teach it. In 2009, God finally released me to teach what I had stored up and I have been teaching it ever since. By the time I began sharing and teaching, I had several great books on Biblical astronomy and a full box of research.

A pregnant woman understands signs of the birth being near, especially waiting for the water to break and the birth pains to begin. As we near the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are looking for the signs of His coming. Jesus said there would be signs in the heavens before He returned.

In the beginning of  2009, two ministers who I highly respect received the following words from the Lord:

  • John Kilpatrick  received a word for 2009, RESURRECTION, with each letter corresponding with what would happen that year. The ‘S’ stood for Signs in the Heavens.
  • Hank Kunneman  wrote regarding 2009: Signs in the Heavens and Wonders on the Earth. Jesus said the powers of heaven will be shaken in Luke 21:26, we have seen shakings upon the earth but have we never seen the powers of heaven shaking as we are going to. Watch for incredible and very unusual signs in the heavens. New discoveries in science and astronomy; signs in the sun that will cause great discussion. Things will be written in the newspapers and on the media as they won’t be able to explain the unusual signs in the heavens, as God uses this to bring glory and honor to Jesus Christ while others try to explain it away.

HERE ARE SOME UNUSUAL HEAVENLY OCCURRENCES OF 2009

April 7-8, 2009, Passover

  • April 7,  2009- Hand of God in ActionThis beautiful image of a “cosmic hand” reaching for the stars has been captured by a Nasa observatory.
  • April 8, 2009- Crown of Thorns
  • April 8, 2009- Blessing of the Sun, Birchat HaChama- Rabbis call this the Third Redemption. Three times in recorded history the Sun has lined up as in the day of Creation (4th day, Genesis 1:14) and Passover. The first time was the first Passover  recorded in Exodus, the second time was when Mordecai and Esther were fasting for the saving of their nation and the last time was in Passover 2009. The first 2 times the nation was saved from destruction by an enemy that wanted to destroy them. In Israel it was a very encouraging sign that God was going to save them from destruction one more time. They base this on Hosea 6:1-2.

June 2, 2009- New Clouds Found and were  named Asperatus clouds. Asperatus means ‘rough‘ and they were said to look ‘mean’. Evangelist Del Mar Coward of Vision Ministries had a vision of these clouds the beginning of 2009 while in prayer.  When I showed him the article, he said they were the exact clouds God showed him. He said that he had never seen anything so wicked and evil. Since that time, God has shown him that it was a demonic force released upon the earth. God has led him to an understanding of that vision from Daniel 10, to start in the 1st verse and he has received much revelation since then on principalities and power released.

July 21, 2009, Planet Jupiter (King planet representing Israel & Messiah) was hit by a heavenly object 15 years to the date that Shoemaker Levi Comet bombarded Jupiter. History records that when Jupiter is hit from a heavenly object, something will happen to the country and people of Israel. 15 years ago the ‘land for peace’ deal was taking place in Oslo, Norway.

July 22, 2009 , Total Solar Eclipse This was the 2nd of 3 years in a row on the Hebrew day of Av 1 (August 1, 2008 & July 11, 2010) and was the longest in the 21st Century and it was called a monster’ solar eclipse. It began in India, crossed through Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, China, Japan’s Ryukyu Islands and curved through the Pacific Ocean. All the countries under the Solar Eclipse are in the 1040 Window.

December 2, 2009, Superbright Supernova,  first of its kind-  believed to be a star that first populated the universe. A supernova is a star that suddenly increases greatly in brightness because of a catastrophic explosion that ejects most of its mass.

December 8-14, 2009, Geminid Meteor Showers during  the Jewish festival Hanukkah, peaked December 13 with 130 ‘shooting stars’ per hour. The normal evening would see approximately 10 per hour.

December 31, 2009, Blue Moon. The moon is not really blue unless there is a volcano or something that would put dust into the atmosphere. A Blue moon means the 2nd full moon in one month, which is very rare.

Since 2009 the heavens have been very interesting. I suggest you get a good Hebrew Calendar for Christians and record whenever there is something unusual happening in the heavens. We are in interesting times. As always, I will do my best to keep my findings updated on this blog.  My teaching manual and CDs are available for purchase on our Resource link on our web site, www.KenBostromMinistries.org . “Keep looking up, our redemption is drawing nigh”

Sivan is known as the ‘third month’ in the Bible according to the Biblical Calendar and is the ninth month on the civil calendar. There are only three months mentioned in the Exodus from Egypt in the Torah (first five books of the Bible written by Moses):  First month (Nisan), Second month (Iyar) and Third month (Sivan).  Exodus 19:1, “In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on the same day, they came to the Wilderness of Sinai.”

Sivan is most likely a Persian name and means “their covering” according to Strong’s Concordance and Gesenius’s Lexicon says it comes from a Chaldee root that means ‘to rejoice’ as if this is the ‘month of rejoicing’. It is  pronounced see-van’. The only time the word Sivan is mentioned in the Bible is Esther 8:9, “So the king’s scribes were called at that time, in the third month, which is the month of Sivan……..” It is interesting to note that this verse is the longest verse in the Bible.

What to expect this month:

  • Mercy- ‘blessed are the merciful for they shall find mercy’ (Mt 5:7). At Pentecost the scroll of Ruth is read because she finds mercy at the wheat harvest, which is Pentecost. Ruth means ‘friendship’ and a friend shows mercy.
  • New Assignments– Just as Moses received his assignment on Mt Sinai and the 120 received power from on high (Acts 2) to be ‘witnesses’. This is a month to ‘hear’ and get into your ‘aligned position’. Aquilla Nash (www.aquillanash.org) says that ‘it will be difficult to receive direction in July’ so we need to take advantage of the season and get our directions and assignments. Paul Crouch of TBN quoted that ‘every word Aquilla delivered has come to pass’.
  • Zebulon is known for success in business so this is a great month to press into ‘God’s way of success in business’. With the Word of God and the Holy Spirit as your Helper, you will see that ‘it is He who gives you power to get wealth’, Deut 8:18.
  • Success in warring for finances– Zayin is a pictograph of a sword and means to ‘cut’ or ‘pierce’, but comes from a root meaning nourishment. Zebulun  begins with the letter Zayin and it is the only Zayin in the names of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. As a merchant, money maker to spread God’s Word, Zebulun had to use the sword and stay focused on his assignment to get finances from the kingdom of this world and into God’s Kingdom. This mountain is the Mountain of Business and we need to pray for all those who have the anointing of Zebulun in these last days to finance the work of the Kingdom of God.
  • A special blessing as you bless Israel– This is the month of Gemini, the Twins (Exodus 26:24). This month is considered to be the month  of marriage of Israel to God. As we bless Israel, we are blessed. Prepare a special offering to Israel at Pentecost, considered a time of open heaven for giving.
  • Completion– Sivan is the 7th month and Zayin is the 7th letter. In Hebrew 7 means ‘completion’ and coming to a rest– ‘on the 7th day God rested’. The Hebrew children completed their journey from Egypt and were now at Mt Sinai to meet with God and learn what He wanted them to do. As you are going into a time of new assignments, it is time to lay the past assignments down. The assignments may be in the same area, but at a new level. As Peter became a new man by the power of the Holy Spirit, you will receive new power from on high.

Holidays and Holy Days

The special Holiday of Sivan is what we call Pentecost, the Hebrew Feast of Shavuot. It is also called  ‘Feast of Weeks’ and is the fourth feast of the Seven Hebrew Feasts listed in Leviticus 23. This is when the Law or written Word of God, was given to Moses on Mount Sinai. On the First day of Sivan, the new moon of the new month (rosh chodesh), the 45th day after leaving Egypt, the children of Israel reached the desert of Sinai and camped around the mountain. On the 6th of Sivan, Jewish tradition says the Torah as given to Moses.

In Exodus (Shemos) 19:1,  Jewish Tradition says that “that very day” refers to Rosh Chodesh Sivan. About that day it is written, “And the People of Israel encamped there, opposite the Mountain.” The verb written in Hebrew for ‘encamped’ is ‘vayichan’,  a singular, rather than plural, form. This is to indicate that the acceptance of the Torah by the Jewish People was as if with a single mind, and a single heart. This was necessary because the Torah was like a marriage contract between God and Israel and, as such, there was no room for any hesitation or disloyalty between the parties. In order for Israel to rise to its highest calling, they needed to be unified. Only when their highest goal was hearing from God could they receive the written word, Torah.

In Acts 2, we see the Holy Spirit coming upon the 120 that were of one accord (representing a singleness of  heart and mind).  Acts 2:1, “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. (2) And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.” An interesting thing about the first Pentecost was that when Moses received the Ten Commandments, he came down from Mt Sinai and found the people worshiping a Golden Calf. The result was 3,000 men died that day. In Acts 2, 3,000 religious men were born again as the result of Peter’s preaching the Good News. There is no Hebrew word for coincidence!

  • At Mt Sinai they were of one mind and single heart, at Mt Zion they were in one accord
  • At Mt Sinai they had prepared themselves to hear from God, at Mt Zion they were all in prayer
  • At Mt Sinai they waited at the base of the mountain, at Mt Zion they waited for the Promise of the Father
  • At Mt Sinai a nation was birthed when God covenanted with an entire nation and at Mt Zion (Jerusalem) a Church was born from Jesus’ New Covenant
  • At Mt Sinai the Word was given to teach them about God & His ways of being and doing right
  • At Mt Zion the Teacher came to live inside them
  • At Mt Sinai the Heavens were opened and Moses went up, at Mt Zion the heavens were opened and the Spirit came down

On Pentecost, the scroll of Ruth is read in its entirety. One reason is because much of the story is from the time of the barley harvest (Passover) and ends in the time of wheat harvest (Pentecost) but also it is a story of redemption of all things lost.  Ruth 1:1 begins, “Now it came to pass in the days of” which occurs 5 times in the Bible, always begins with impending trouble and ends in happy deliverance. Ruth means “friendship”.

Letter: Zayin  Zayin is the pictograph of a weapon or sword and means to cut, to pierce. Zayin is considered a “crowned” Vav. Just as Vav represents ‘yashar‘, straight light from God to man, so Zayin represents ‘chozer‘, returning light.

The word time (zman) and remember (zacher) both begin with Zayin. Deut 32:7, “Remember the days of old. Exodus 20:8, “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. In the original Hebrew script, there is an oversized Zayin in Malachi 4:4, Remember the Torah of Moses my servant.” Zayin represents a weapon of the Spirit (sword of the spirit), the Word of God. Remembering what God has done keeps us in faith, keeps us thankful and keeps our hearts single. In short, “remembering keeps us” in God’s perfect will, God’s timing and on the right path.

Tribe: Zebulun, the sixth and last son of Leah and the tenth son of Jacob.   His strengths were:  he supported ministries financially, gifted in earning money, gifted writer, counselor, a tribe of vision and very reliable. His weakness was that  he did not drive the enemy out of his God-given land, “peace at any price“.   The Tribe of Zebulun were great soul winners,  prayer warriors and missionaries.  Zebulun is associated with ‘light’, representing  revelation of the Word.  Isaiah 9:1-5 & Matthew 4:13-16 tell of the promised “light” to come through Jesus. ‘The land of Zebulun…..the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.

Constellation: Gemini, The Hebrew name for Gemini is ‘Thaumim‘, which means ‘united‘ (Exodus 26:24, coupled). The Ten Commandments were written in two (twin) tablets, and yet they are one. In every Jew, Jacob represents the good and Esau represents the evil inclination.  “You shall love God with all your heart” refers to both inclinations. The tablet on the right side symbolizes the first five commandments, which stand for the completed nature of Jacob as Israel, and the tablet on the left side is the areas we fight in our flesh, symbolized by Esau.

When a bride and groom attain to the highest degree of connection, oneness, they are described as ‘twins’.  The day that God gave the Torah to Israel is known as the wedding of the two.

Sivan in History

  • Sivan 1- In the Hebrew year 2448, seven weeks after the Exodus from Egypt, the Jewish people arrived at Mount Sinai. They spent the next five days in intense purification and preparation to receive the Torah. (Exodus 19:1)
  • Sivan 6- In the Hebrew year 2448, 50 days after the Exodus from Egypt, the Torah was given in Divine revelation to the entire Jewish people at Mount Sinai and Israel became a nation. (The name of this holiday, Pentecost or Shavuot, means “weeks,” in recognition of the 7 weeks journey to Mt Sinai).
  • Sivan 5-In 1981, Israel bombed and destroyed the Iraqi nuclear reactor in Baghdad
  • Sivan 6-  In 32 AD, The Holy Spirit was poured out and the Church was birthed. (Acts 2)
  • Sivan 15- Traditional date for the birth and death of Judah, 4th son of Jacob. (1564-1445 BC). It is believed that if a person is born and dies on the same date, they have faithfuly fulfilled all God called them to accomplish.
  • Sivan 21– In the Hebrew year 2448, Miriam spoke negatively about  Moses, and was struck with leprosy. (Nu 12)
  • Sivan 23-  On this day in 355 BC, Haman’s edict for destroying the Jewish people was overturned. (Esther 8:9)
  • Sivan 29– In the Hebrew year 2448, Moses sent out 12 spies into the Promised Land, one from each of the 12 Tribes. 40 days later they came back- 10 with an evil report, Joshua and Caleb with good reports. When the nation of Israel chose the evil report, they were sentenced to 40 years in the Wilderness. One year for each day they were spying out the land. [pay close attention to Tammuz 17 next month. Choosing the negative report began a cycle of bad things happening to Isreal]

NASA reports, May 19, 2011- SUPER STORM ON  SATURN     The violence of the storm — the strongest  disturbances ever detected in Saturn’s stratosphere — took researchers by surprise. What started as an ordinary disturbance deep in Saturn’s atmosphere punched through the planet’s serene cloud cover to roil the high layer known as  the stratosphere.

What our President did yesterday (May 19) took us by surprise too. It was what we hoped would never happen, for our nation to turn against Israel and God’s everlasting covenant with the land.

Saturn is one of the original planets from Creation, one of the inner planets that can be seen with our naked eye.

Genesis 1:14,And God said, “Let bright lights appear in  the sky to separate the day from the night. They will be signs  to mark off the seasons, the days, and the years. (15) and  let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. (16) Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. [He made] the stars also. (17) God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, (18) and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that [it  was] good. (19)  So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.”

Planets are ‘wandering stars’, constellations are ‘fixed stars’. Jesus said that there would be signs in the heavens before He came back, Matthew 24. Stars pointed to His first coming. Generally, when anything prophetic happens with Israel there is a sign in the heavens.

In Hebrew Saturn is Shabbtai, and means ‘rest’, the Sabbath Rest. What happened yesterday brought a storm to Israel’s hope for rest. The one nation that stood with Israel since 1948 has now turned against her. She stands alone, where nations are concerned. PM Benjamin Netanyahu says, “Israel has one friend, the Evangelical Christians”. I am proud to be one who stands with Israel and God’s covenant promises.

Isaiah 62:1, “For Zion’s sake I will not be silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not hold my peace.”

One of the things I like to study is connections between heavenly events and happenings with Israel. I don’t know what is coming in the future, but I can look at the past history.

According to Jewish Rabbinic tradition and from historical recording of cycles, an eclipse should be interpreted according to the following (Talmud-Mas. Sukkah 29a)

  • Solar – a bad omen for idolaters
  • Lunar – a bad omen for Israel
  • Red Moon at Lunar eclipse – a sword is coming for the whole world
  • Black Moon at Lunar eclipse – the arrows of famine are coming to the world
  • Both red and black moon – both sword and famine
  • In the East- specifically for those who live in the East
  • In the West – specifically for those who live in the West
  • In the midst of heaven-  for the whole world

June 1, 2011 is Iyar 28, 5771 on the Hebrew calendar. This is also Yom Yerushalayim, Jerusalem Day. There will also be a partial solar eclipse seen in the northern countries, Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Iceland and other far north Asia. Northern Russia will get the best showing of this eclipse.

  • In 1967, Israeli paratroopers completed their capture of the Old City of Jerusalem, restoring Jewish control of the Temple Mount, Judaism’s holiest site. Soldiers danced, sang and cried at the Western Wall, the site of Jewish prayers for centuries. A plaza was cleared in front of the Wall, and one week later, tens of thousands of Jews swarmed to the site on the holiday of Shavuot (Pentecost). Iyar 28 is celebrated today as Yom Yerushalayim, commemorating the reunification of the Holy City, which has stood as the capital of the Jewish nation for 3,000 years.

June 15, 2011 will have a full lunar eclipse,  a blood red moon. The June 15 total lunar eclipse will be visible to observers in Africa, southern Asia, and Australia. (AAA?) It is said that this eclipse will be one of the darkest eclipses ever. It will be second only to the July 16, 2000 total lunar eclipse.

  • On the Hebrew calendar this falls on Sivan 13. In 1948,  20 Jews were killed by a bombing of the Jewish Quarter in Cairo, Egypt. (In the coming months, more bombings in Cairo killed an additional 50 Jews.) In the period following Israel’s declaration of independence, anti-Jewish riots broke out across the Arab world. Jews were attacked and imprisoned, Jewish property was seized, and most of these centuries-old Jewish communities were forced to disband.

July 1, 2011 will see another partial solar eclipse. This eclipse will only be visible in the Antarctic.

  • On the Hebrew calendar this falls on Sivan 29, 5771. On this date in 1312 BC, Moses sent 12 spies into the Promised Land. 40 days later they came back and 10 had an evil report, which the nation believed. This was Av 8, 1312. The next day was Av 9, which began a cycle of disastrous events for the nation. Two of the biggest disasters that happened on Av 9 (Tisha B’Av) were that both Solomon’s Temple ( 586 BC)  and Rebuilt Temple (70 AD) were destroyed on that very day.

November 25, 2011 will see the 4th partial solar eclipse of 2011. This will be seen in Antarctica, southern New Zealand and South Africa.

  • This is Cheshvan 28 on the Hebrew calendar. On this day in 1949 Israel reached a population of 1 million. in 1882 the population of Israel (size of New Jersey) was 289,000. Today the population is 7,746,000. Look what the Lord has done.

December 10, 2011 will see the 2nd full lunar eclipse of 2011, a blood red moon This will be visible from Alaska, northern Canada, Australia, New Zealand, central Asia and eastern Asia. Viewers in most of North America and Hawaii will view the moon set still in eclipse, while those along the west coast of the United States and Canada will see the beginning of totality just as the moon disappears below the western horizon. The best view of the total lunar eclipse will be from central and eastern Asia. The eclipse will find the moon set between the horns of Taurus the Bull.

  • This is Kislev 14 on the Hebrew calendar and  is considered to be Reuben’s birth date, the first son of Jacob.

Pesach Sheni means the Second Passover, or the Passover celebrated on the 14th day of the Second month, Iyar,  instead of the 14th day of the First month, which is the month of Nisan. This is the only holy day recorded for the month of Iyar, the Second month, in the Torah. Now Israel celebrates Israel Memorial Day and Israel Independence Day, but those are memorials from 1948, not the time of the Torah.

We find the laws of the Second Passover in Numbers 9. The Hebrew nation was celebrating the Passover in the Wilderness, but certain men were defiled because of touching a dead body and could not celebrate the Passover.

Numbers 9:7, “And those men said to him, “We [became] defiled by a human corpse. Why are we kept from presenting the offering of the LORD at its appointed time among the children of Israel?” (8) And Moses said to them, “Stand still, that I may hear what the LORD will command (9) Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, (10) Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘If anyone of you or your posterity is unclean because of a corpse, or [is] far away on a journey, he may still keep the LORD’s Passover. concerning you.” (11) ‘On the fourteenth day of the second month, at twilight, they may keep it. They shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.”

One of God’s names is “All Merciful God”, El malei Rachamim. God called Himself merciful when He passed by Moses, who was in the cleft of the rock in Exodus 34. Vs 6 reads, “And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, (7) “keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing [the guilty], visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”  He is the God of a Second Chance, and proves it by extending mercy to the Second month to those who were not ready.

Pesach Sheni reveals to those in Covenant with the Almighty God,  that there is ‘always a second chance’, ‘never a lost case’, ‘nothing is impossible’ and ‘God is never to late’.

We see this truth revealed in 2 Chronicles 29-30 with King Hezekiah. When Hezekiah  became king he determined to ‘do right in the sight of God’, but preparation needed to be done and it was already the first month of the biblical calendar.

  1. The priests needed to sanctify themselves unto God, purifying themselves.
  2. They had to ‘carry out the filthiness out of the holy place. Can you imagine rubbish & garbage in the Holy Place? The Holy Place is also called the Inner Court, where the Seven-Branched Golden Candlestick (Menorah), Golden Altar of Incense and the Table of Shewbread were located. The Outer Court had the natural light and where all priests were allowed. The Inner Court has the light of the Menorah, representing revelation of God and the Kohathites (Kohen lineage) were the only priests allowed to enter.  The Holy of Holies had the light of the Glory of God and only the High Priest was allowed to enter once a year,  on the Day of Atonement.
  3. They had to make repairs to the Temple.
  4. They had to give sin offerings, because of the sins of wicked King Ahaz.
  5. Worship with singing and instruments continued throughout the sacrifices and when the sacrifices were finished they sang praises with gladness, bowed their heads and worshiped.
  6. Thanks offerings were given unto God in abundance.

So what does this have to do with us? I am glad you asked.

  1. Just as the priests had to sanctify themselves, we need to separate ourselves unto God, return to Him.
  2. Just as they had to carry the filthiness, rubbish and garbage out of the Holy Place we need to forgive, forget and turn our thoughts unto the Word of God.
  3. Just as they had to repair the Temple, we need to repair relationships with each other, seek restoration. Just as the Passover brings us reconciliation unto God by the precious Blood of Jesus, we need to become ministers of reconciliation. The Temple is not just our physical body, but the Body of Christ as a whole.
  4. Just as they sacrificed, worshiped and gave thanksgiving offerings to God, we need to be obedient and follow what the Holy Spirit shows us to do.

Hezekiah keeps the Passover in the Second Month

The leaders and Hezekiah agreed to keep the Passover and sent our a proclamation throughout all Israel, encouraging them to ‘return to the Lord’,  to come to the Temple in Jerusalem and to yield themselves to God so that the wrath on the nation would be turned back.

2 Chronicles 30:9 reads, “”For if you return to the LORD, your brethren and your children will be treated with compassion by those who lead them captive, so that they may come back to this land; for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face from you if you return to Him.”

The priests sprinkled the blood of the lambs on those who were not sanctified! This speaks volumes to me of the goodness of God, to pardon by the Blood! We as priests are to stand in the gap between our Holy God and a sinful nation and ask for mercy, sprinkling the Blood of Jesus in prayers.

What was the result? Vs 26, “So there was great joy in Jerusalem, for since the time of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, there had been nothing like this in Jerusalem.” (27b) and the prayers came up to His holy dwelling place, in heaven.”

Wow! What a God! What a Savior! They had such a great time they extended the 7 day feast to 14 days!

Isaiah 61:7 promises us beautiful insteads: “Instead of shame you shall have double honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be theirs.”

Once the Temple and people came back to God, they were able to go out throughout the land and bring the land back to God.

2 Chronicles 31:21 records Hezekiah’s success as king, “And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, in the law and in the commandment, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart. So he prospered.”

This sounds like a good plan for a great awakening!

By the way, there will be a full moon on Pesach Sheni.

I encourage you to set your alarm for 5:30 or 5:45am to get up before sunrise and watch the once-in-a-lifetime heavenly event, May 11th. Four of the planets that formed the heavenly menorah at Creation will be clustered together in the east before the sun comes up.  The two brightest planets,  Venus & Jupiter, will not be this close again until 2014.

I will lists the four planets, their Hebrew names and biblical meanings:

  • Venus, in Hebrew it is called Nogah, meaning splendor, brightness, brilliance. This is called the Morning Star since it comes into view in the East just before the Sun.
  • Jupiter, in Hebrew it is called Tzedek, and means righteousness. It is the King planet because it is the largest of the seven and represents the Messiah. It is also known as the King David planet, representing Israel
  • Mercury, in Hebrew Kochav, meaning the Messenger or Servant Star, the Sun Star, and is closest to the Sun
  • Mars, in Hebrew Ma’adim, meaning the Adam, the Red One or the Son of Man

What really makes this alignment special is that they are all in the constellation of Pisces, the Two Fish. One fish swims towards the North Polar Star representing the ‘heavenly calling’ of God’s people who looked for the heavenly city and the other fish is swimming along the ecliptic line of the Sun, reprenting their ‘earthly assingment’, while being an alien and pilgrim on the earth.

Pisces has always represented Israel, referencing the promise given to Ephraim and Mannessah is Genesis 48:4, “And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people”. In Hebrew this carries the meaning ‘let them be like fish for multitude or like fish do increase’.  This constellation has become known as joining two for the purpose of creating ‘one new man’, from Ephesians 2:15. This is the joining of the Old Covenant with the New and the Jews with the Christians by Jesus Christ. The Two Fish are joined at the tails by a Band, which in Arabic is ‘Al Risha’. The Egyptian name for the Band is U-or, meaning “He Cometh”. Hosea 11:4 reads, “I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love…”

E.W. Bullinger wrote in his book, Witness of the Stars wrote, “Indeed, this Sign of Pisces has always been interpreted of Israel. Both Jews and Gentiles have agreed to this. Abarbanel, a Jewish commentator, writing on Daniel, affirms that the Sign Pisces always refers to the people of Israel. He gives five reasons for this belief, and affirms that a conjunction of the planets Jupiter and Saturn always betokens a crisis in the affairs of Israel. Because such a conjunction took place in his day (about 1480 AD) he looked for the coming of the Messiah.” (note: Saturn is not on this display May 11, 2011)

Where is Saturn May 11th? Saturn, Shabbatai, the Lord of the Sabbath,  is still visible in the midnight sky, hovering near Porrima, the Atonement star  in the sign of the Virgin.

This cluster of four planets of the Creation menorah are divinely connected to the promises in Isaiah. The connections are the meanings of the planets (message or messenger, servant, glory, splender or brightness, righteousness, and the Messiah) with the prophesies of Isaiah.

  • Isaiah 42:1-9, Here  is My Servant whom I uphold, My Chosen One with whom I am pleased, upon whom I  have put My Spirit…  Thus says God, the LORD, Who created the
heavens and stretched them out…  See,  the earlier things have come to pass, new ones I now foretell; before they  spring into being, I announce them to you. (in this passage we see that God created the heavens to announce His Son, His Servant, His Chosen One, in Whom I AM well pleased)
  • Isaiah 61:1-2, The spirit of the Lord GOD is  upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; He has sent me (Messenger) to bring glad tidings (message) to the lowly, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and  release to the prisoners, to announce a year of favor from the LORD… Then He  closed the scroll…and sat down…and said, ‘Today, this scripture is fulfilled in  your hearing.’ Luke 4:18-21
  • Isaiah 49:6,  It is too little, he says, for  you to be my servant, to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and restore the survivors  of Israel; I will make you a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach  to the ends of the earth. (that my Yeshua may reach the ends of the  earth- the Two Fish connection)
  • Isaiah 60:1-3,  Rise up in splendor! Your light  has come, the glory of the Lord shines upon you. See, darkness covers the earth,  and thick clouds cover the peoples; but upon you the LORD shines, and over you  appears His glory. Nations shall walk by your light, and kings by your shining  radiance. (Rev 22:16 refers to Jesus as the Morning Star)
  •  Isaiah 62:1-2,  For Zion’s sake I will not be  silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet, until her righteousness (her  Tzedek) shines forth like the dawn and her salvation (her Yeshua) like a  burning torch. Nations shall behold your righteousness, and all kings your  glory; You shall be called by a new name pronounced by the mouth of the LORD.
You shall be a glorious crown in the hand of the LORD, a royal diadem held by  your God.

Venus– Nogah – Splender
Jupiter– Tzedek – Righteoussness
Mercury– Kokhav – The Messenger Star
Mars– Ma’adim –  The Adam, The Red One, The Son of Man
These all come together in theses promises of the Messiah in Isaiah, anticipating His Second Coming!

  • God is not slack concerning His promises (2 Peter 3:9)
  • The Day of the Lord IS coming (2 Peter 3:10-12)
  • The Son of Man IS coming in Splendor (I Thes 3:13)
  • His message is in the stars (Genesis 1:14, Isaiah 42)

Revelation 22:7, Behold, I come quickly: blessed [is] he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. (12) And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. (20) He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly.

To which we add:  “Amen. Even so,  come, Lord Jesus.”

Rosh Chodesh is the Head of the Hebrew month. Iyar is the 2nd month on the biblical calendar and the 7th month on the civil calendar.

What to expect this month (cycles repeat themselves):
  • Revelation knowledge from God, a blessed time spend quiet time listening to Him and concentrating on every word
  • Understanding of the timing and secrets of God (I Chron 12:32, the Tribe of Issachar had an “understanding of the times and knew what Israel should do.”)
  • Expect brilliance instead of dullness, light instead of darkness (Iyar is also called Ziv and means radiance)
  • Declare healing in every area, health, relationships, etc.  (Iyar is an acronym for “I AM the God that healeth thee”)
  • Independnce and liberation from your enemies, no matter how long you have been in bondage (Israel’s Independence Day, nation reborn after almost 2,000 years and God’s promises fulfilled- Can a nation be born in a day? Is there anything too hard for God?)
  • This is the month declare heaven’s will into the earth (Vav symbolizes the connecting force of God, the divine “hook” that binds heaven  and earth together)
  • Declare your strength renewed and press forward in God’s strength (Constellation is Taurus the Bull)
  • Healing in relationships (Lag B’Omer is a time for renewed respect and love in relationships)
  • Plagues and famines to stop (Lag B’Omer the plagues were stopped when respect was shown for the Rabbi)
  • Declare and decree peace and unity between Mexico and America and our borders (Cinco De Mayo)

Specific Prayer Points for 2011:

  • PM Netanyahu will visit Washington DC and adress the House and Senate May 22-25. When Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was at the White House March 2010 he was treated with the greatest disrespect of any national leader. For a head of government to visit the White House and not pose for photographers is rare. For a key ally to be left to his own devices while the President withdraws to have dinner in private was, until this week, unheard of. Yet that is how Benyamin Netanyahu was treated by President Obama … as a humiliation. Pray Isaiah 62, “that instead of shame, he will receive ‘double honor'”. (let’s see Lag B’Omer happen again)
  • May 14-15, The anniversary of the blockade of Egypt of 1967. The Palestinians are planning the 3rd Intifada of Israel and plan another flotilla.

Rosh Chodesh Iyar 5771 is sundown May 4 to sundown May 5. How exciting that the  60th Anniversary of the National Day of Prayer is on Rosh Chodesh Iyar! This is also Cinco De Mayo, a celebration of when American and Mexico joined forced to defeat the French.

The month of “Ziv” (radiance) [it is related to the prophets (I Kings 6:1) Solomon began the building of the First  Temple “in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv,  which is the second month, he began to build the House of God.” This is a month of radiance and brilliance,  when light increases.

The month of Iyar is commonly referred to as the month of healing, for its  name is an acronym of “I am God your Healer” (Exodus 15:26)

Holidays:

Counting of the Omer – The count of the Omer began Nisan 16 and counts the  50 days between Passover and the Feast of Pentecost.

May 8- Memorial Day–  “Yom HaZikaron“- commemorates those who gave their  lives for Eretz Israel (land of Israel)

May 9- 63rd Independence Day in Israel,  “Yom Yerushalayim“- the day marking the return  of the Jewish People, with the help of God, to their capital city and Temple  Mount. The State of Israel was established on Iyar 5708 (1948) when the leaders of the Restored state signed the Declaration of Independence. [the next day the  Arab nations went to war with Israel]

May 17- Pesach Sheni- The Second Passover. This is the only holy day recorded in the Torah for the Second Month, Iyar. (Numbers 9)

May 22- Lag B’Omer– The Talmud relates that in the weeks between Passover and Shavuot a plague raged amongst the disciples of the great sage Rabbi Akiva “because they did not act respectfully towards each other”; these weeks are therefore observed as a period of mourning, with various joyous activities proscribed by law and custom. On Lag BaOmer the dying ceased. Thus Lag BaOmer also carries the theme of Ahavat Yisrael, the imperative to love and respect one’s fellow.

May 14-15, Iyar 12– In 1967, Egypt blocked the Gulf of Aqaba to Israeli shipping.

Tribes were counted in Iyar 2449 , the 2nd year after the  Exodus, while they were in the wilderness.

Letter : Vav , the  6th letter in the Aleph-Bet, numeric value of 6. The pictograph looks  like a tent peg. First used in Genesis 1:1, joining heaven and earth matters.
Vav symbolizes the connecting force of God, the divine “hook” that binds heaven  and earth together. Vav also represents “man”, who was created on the  6th day. A broken Vav represents a man that is broken. Each curtain  of the Tabernacle was fastened to its post by means of a silver hook (vav).  Joshua, the 6th book of the Bible reveals that good success comes  from meditating on the Word of God. (Joshua 1:8)

Mazal : “Shor” (Taurus-ox)  Constellation is made up of Taurus the bull, Orion the hunter, Eridanus  the river, Auriga the shepherd. Ox is symbolic of a fierce conqueror and a  servant. Psalms 147:4 tells us that He called each star by name. The Hebrew names of the stars in Taurus the Bull, beginning at the brightest to the less bright stars, together tell the story of the Messiah coming to rule. Jesus may have come as a Lamb, but when He comes the second time it will be with the fierceness of a charging bull. There is a cluster of 1 star surrounded by  7 other stars in the neck of Taurus that is called Pleiades, which means ‘congregation of the ruler’. Pleiades is found mentioned in Job 9:9; 38:31 and Amos 5:8) Pleiades is likened to the Seven Churches of Revelation, who are at the base of the Taurus Mountain Range.

Tribe : Issachar.  The scholarly tribe of Israel. The Sanhedrin was mostly composed from the tribe of Issachar. In particular, Issachar was the  master of the “secret” of the Jewish calendar, as is said of him: “knowers of  understanding the times.” His basic nature is contemplative and he serves as the  “advisor” to his brethren, the tribes of Israel (in particular to the king,  Judah).

Nisan 5771 begins Monday Night at sundown, April 4, 2011
What to expect this month (cycles repeat themselves):
  • Praise to prepare the way for the King (Judah means praise)
  • Praise to over through the works of the enemy (Judah goes first to war)
  • Revelation (month of spring, direct light, unveiling of hidden things)
  • Things that looked dead to come back to life (Spring and raising of Lazarus)
  • Deeper revelation of our redemption (month of Passover)
  • Deliverance (when the Hebrew children were delivered from bondage in Egypt)
  • Crossing Over into your Promised Land (when Joshua led the Hebrew children through the Joran River)
  • Payback of back pay, finances stolen from you (women ‘asked’ the Egyptian neighbors for riches, Ex 3:22; 12:35-36)
  • Take new ground, expand your territory as this is the month ‘Kings go to war’ (2 Samuel 11:1, not defensive, but offensive battle against the enemy)
  • Family deliverance (Exodus 12) from captivity, from bondage, from sickness and loss of strength, from no hope, from lack, from oppression…….
  • Fresh revelation of the Power of the Blood for cleansing, deliverance, redemption, protection, drawing you near to God!!!
Begin to declare and decree  these things over your life. Job 22:28 teaches us, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.”
Nisan is the 1st month on Biblical calendar, 7th month on the Civil calendar. It begins at sundown April 4 and lasts 30 days, with the month closing on May 4th at sundown. Rosh Chodesh means the first day of a new month on the Hebrew Calendar. The months on the Hebrew calendar are based on the moon cycle or  lunar calendar. Normally the Hebrew calendar is 12 months, but on a leap year it  has 13 months. This year is a Leap Year (full year) so we have just passed 2 months of Adar.
Nisan begins the new Biblical year or Cycle of Redemption and Blessing. This  being the first month was first instituted by God in Exodus 12:2, “This  month [shall be] unto you the beginning of months: it [shall be] the first month  of the year to you.” This month was first called the First Month of the  year. In Exodus 13 we see this month having a name Abib (pronounced A-veev). Abib in Hebrew means ‘the barley is in the  ear’, and represents the barley harvest that is celebrated the middle of  Abib on Passover. By the time of Nehemiah it was called Nisan, meaning  ‘their flight’.
So this month stands for when God delivered the Israelites out of Egypt after  400 years and the Jews out of a 70 year Babylonian captivity. This past two months we were to press into ‘no matter what joy’  with 2 months of  Adar. If you did, I am sure that you  experienced many turn-arounds, insteads because you were expecting them. As we go through this next cycle on the calendar God chose, let  us expect redemption in every area of our lives and our loved  ones.
Redeem is an interesting Hebrew word, H1349, ga’al. It means to buy  back, ransom, as buying a slave out of a slave market and setting them free. A  kinsman redeemer, as we see of Boaz in the Book of Ruth, would bring a person  back to their inheritance or original position. May your eyes be opened this month to the truth of Redemption, for when you  really know that truth you will be free indeed!!! Who the Son sets free is free indeed.
Calendar of Events– Remember days begins at sundown  the night before
April 4      Nisan 1      Rosh Chodesh Nisan

April 19     Nisan 15    Passover (Pesach)
April 19-25     Nisan 16-22 Feast of Unleavened Bread
March 31      Nisan 16     Begins the counting of the Omer (50 days to  Pentecost)
May 1         Nisan 27     Holocaust Memorial Day
Spring  Housecleaning will begin as people begin to clean all the leaven out of  their homes for the feasts of Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread & First  Fruits. It seens as if we have a special grace from God at this time to get rid  of things that clutter, cause stress (mess creates stress), and prepare for a  new season. Out with the old and in with the new. During the 7 days of  Unleavened Bread all yeast (leaven) items will be totally cleansed from thier  homes. This is also a great way to detox your body since yeast infections are a  major health problem. Our bodies and the temple of the Holy Spirit (I Cor 6:19)  and it is a good things to get rid of things spiritually and phyically.(Hebrews  12:1-2)
The  Tribe for Nisan is Judah. Judah meanspraise‘ and is the 4th son of Jacob and Leah.  Judah  is the tribe of the king (David, Solomon & Jesus who is the King of Kings).
Over 2000 years ago Jesus bore the crown of thorns for us. Pilate even  wrote the title “JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS” and put it on the cross  (John 19:19). When they put this crown on Him and His precious blood began to  flow, the curse of the land was broken. Adam’s sin brought thorns, and the sweat  of our brow (Genesis 3:17-19).  But in heaven King Jesus is on the Throne, at the right hand of the Father. This month is known as “The King of all  Months“, and New Year for Kings. Psalm 8:2 in  the NLT reads, “You have taught children and nursing infants to give you  praise. They silence your enemies who were seeking revenge.” Leah was not  loved or wanted by Jacob and she experienced rejection, her number one enemy.  When she made a decision to stop fighting and begin praising she became the  original ‘No Matter What Woman’.
Judah  always goes first in all journeys. God knew to send out the Tribe that  had courage and strength because they were praisers. His weaknesses were too  much drink, women & money. In fact, the first words recorded from Judah was  in the sale of Joseph, “What profit is this” and “let’s sell him.” His strengths  as he overcomes his weak areas were praiser, leader, victorious warrior (Caleb),  Kings. By far, his strengths outnumbered his weaknesses.
The  last letter in the Hebrew Aleph Bet is Tav and it means ‘a  sign’. The ancient Hebrew letter for Tav is a picture of a  cross. The Hebrew word dat which means  ‘religion‘ is made up of Dalet Tav. Dalet in ancient  script a picture of  ‘a door’. So, put them together and it is clear  that religion is the door of the sign (cross). When the Hebrew  children put the blood of the lamb on their door posts it formed a cross over their threshold (door). John 10:7, Jesus said “I am the Door of the sheep.” No  man comes to God unless they go through the door of Jesus, washed in His precious Blood. He is forever our Passover Lamb (I Cor 5:7)
Hebrew Letter: Hei
Hey is the 5th letter in the Hebrew Aleph Bet with the numerical value of 5. The number 5 stands for grace, God’s unmerited, unearned favor. The pictograph of Hei is a man with his hands raised up praise and thanksgiving and it also is a represents a window.  It means to look, to behold, to show, to reveal, and it is used before a word meaning ‘the’ .     Hey represents the breath of God and his divine creative powers. In the Talmud (Menachot 29b) it is said that the  ” breath of His mouth’ refers to the sound of the letter Hey- the outbreathing of His Spirit.”

Constellation- Aries, The Lamb.

The lamb, slain at Passover, became a sign of Redemption. Israel is like a lamb among 70 wolves (nations formed in Genesis 10). The lamb possesses the innate ability to arouse merchy by its voice. The Blood of the Lamb, slain from the foundation of the earth, is crying out ‘mercy’ every time a drop hits the Mercy Seat in the Throne Room of Heaven.

Eventually, the Germans blew up every house with grenades and dynamite, on suspicion that Jews might be in hiding in underground bunkers. They then poured gasoline over much of the former ghetto and incinerated it. Of the 37,000 Jews in Kovno before the Holocaust, less than 10 percent survived. One of the survivors was Rabbi Ephraim Oshri, who later published a stirring collection of rabbinical responsa, detailing his life-and-death decisions during the Holocaust. Also on this date, in 1937, American Jews held a massive anti-Nazi rally in New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

The Mount Scopus facility would reopen after Jerusalem was reunited in 1967

The events are recorded in the biblical Book of Joshua, chapters 2 and 6

Although not technically an extermination camp (prisoners were used as slave labor in local armament factories), mass killings took place at Buchenwald, and many inmates died in the course of gruesome medical experiments. Elie Wiesel, who went on to write stirring accounts of the Holocaust, for which he earned the Nobel Peace Prize, was an inmate at Buchenwald. Toward the end of the war, the Nazis evacuated inmates from Buchenwald to Flossenberg, where they were liberated.
