Songs 5:8, “I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if you find my beloved, that you tell him I am lovesick!”

Watchman Nee, “When she failed to find the needed help from men of spiritual caliber, she now turned with her request to those who were spiritually less mature than herself.”

  • Before she was”lovesick’ because of an overflow of emotions. (2:5) But now it is a hunger for love in this time of dryness.

Songs 5:9, (The Daughters of Jerusalem) “What is your beloved more than another beloved, O fairest of women? What is your beloved more than another beloved, that you so charge us?”

  •  They do not understand that “NONE” can compare with her Beloved.
  • When someone receives Jesus and is totally changed, who wants nothing but to sit at His feet – people around them do not understand what they are going through on the inside. They see Jesus in the History book and not in their heart. They do not KNOW Him intimately.

Now the Maiden will begin to describe her Beloved to those who are spiritually immature.

Songs 5:10, “My beloved is white and ruddy, chief among ten thousand. (11) His head is like the finest gold; his locks are wavy, and black as a raven. (12) His eyes are like doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set. (13) His cheeks are like a bed of spices, banks of scented herbs. His lips are lilies, dripping liquid myrrh. (14) His hands are rods of gold set with beryl. His body is carved ivory inlaid with sapphires. (15)His legs are pillars of marble set on bases of fine gold.
His countenance is like Lebanon, excellent as the cedars. (16)  His mouth is most sweet, yes, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem!”
