Archive for the ‘Hebrew Months’ Category

It has been said, “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Please learn from the history of this Hebrew month and pray. This is a very challenging month world-wide.  Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Israel’s enemies acknowledge historical dates and plan attacks on those dates.

The 3 week period between Tammuz 17 and Av 9 (Tisha B’Av) are called ‘bein haMetzarim’, aka Between the Straits, Dire Straits. Lamentations 1:3, “Judah has gone into captivity, under affliction and hard servitude; she dwells among the nations, she finds no rest; all her persecutors overtake her in dire straits.” Fear is strong during these 21 days because of the historical events connected with these two dates.

Zechariah 8:17,  “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘The fast of the fourth [month], the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth..’ Each one of these Jewish fasts are memorial times, causing them to examine themselves so they would not repeat the sins of the past.

Bob Jones and Paul Keith Davis wrote a great article in the Elijah List June 21, 2007 called The Season of the Basilisk. www.elijahlist.com  This season for 2018 will be June 30 through July 22nd at sundown. The 9th is a Shabbat, so the fast will be 25 hours beginning at sundown July 21.  The teaching by Bob Jones and Paul Keith Davis is lengthy but worth reading. Bob Jones had visions of Basilisk in 1996 and 1997, each year it was larger.

That three week period of time cause great dread and fear in the hearts of the Jewish people. MUCH MORE this prophetic year of Israel’s 70th anniversary and the moving of the US Embassy to Jerusalem. There are constant rocket attacks from Hamas in Gaza, over 200 Saturday July 14 alone. We understand that faith draws from the spiritual to the natural. Faith in the negative brings into reality what you fear or dread. Job 3:25, “For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me.” Faith in God and His Word brings what we greatly desire to come to pass.

We must not forget that prayer changes things, that our God will give us songs of deliverance. We must never forget that if God be for us who can be against us. We must never forget that the Covenant making and Covenant keeping God never slumbers or sleeps, He preserves and protects His chosen people and His Promised Land.

BUT HE NEEDS TO HEAR OUR PRAYERS!! Isaiah 62:6, “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent. (7) And give Him no rest til He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”

Here are some historical events connected with this the 17th of Tammuz

  • 1312 BC, Moses descended from Mount Sinai and found the people worshiping the Golden Calf, breaking the 2 tablets containing the Ten Commandments- 3,000 Israelites were killed by Levites that day
  • 2 Kings 21:7, evil King Manasseh of Judah set up an idol in the Holy Sanctuary of the Temple
  • 586 BC, Jerusalem were breached after many months of seige by Nebuchadnezzar and his Babylonian forces (First Temple was destroyed 3 weeks later on Av 9)
  • 70 AD, Titus & Rome breached the walls of Jerusalem. Beginning of the end of the Second Temple, which was destroyed three weeks later on Av 9)
  •  135 AD, Second Jewish-Roman War. Roman military leader Apostomus burned a Torah scroll prior to Bar Kokba’s revolt
  • 1239, Pope Gregory IX ordered the confiscation of all manuscripts of the Talmud
  • 1391, More than 4,000 Spanish Jews were killed in Toledo and Jaen, Spain
  •  1559, The Jewish Quarter of Prague was burned and looted
  • 1944, The entire population of Kovno ghetto was sent to the death camps
  • 1970, Libya ordered the confiscation of all Jewish property
  • 1981, Israel attacked the Tammuz-1 nuclear reactor at Osiraq in an attempt to scuttle Iraq’s nuclear program
  • 1994, Shoemaker Levi Comet began to break up, ending with bombarding Jupiter with 16 fragments on Av 9, each with an impact of a nuclear bomb
  •  Tammuz 24, 2002, one week following the 17th of Tammuz fast, water started to come out of the Western Wall. One of the stones, 15 meters up the wall, has suddenly become dripping wet with no earthly explanation
  • 2006, Lebanon and Israel went to war after Hezbollah kidnaped 2 Israeli soldiers. (Chuck Pierce prophesied January 29, 2006, “watch Lebanon. I will bring conflict into Lebanon, because it is the boundary that I will deal with this year concerning My promised land of Israel. The warlike tribes of Lebanon will once again arise. But in the end, I will win this war, and the riches that have been withheld from My Kingdom plan will be released.”)

Isaiah 62:1, “For Israel’s Sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not hold my peace”

We are now in the first month of the Sacred Year that begins with Nisan (Abib). Exodus 12:1, “Now the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, (2) “This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.” This is the month that brings us Passover and begins the prophetic cycle of the Feasts of the Lord.  Lev 23 makes it very clear that these are the Feasts (fixed appointed times) of the LORD!

9th Day of the 10 Days of Awe

Tonight at Sundown begins the most holy day on God’s calendar, Yom Kippur. Tonight also begins the Sabbath Day. Torah readings for Jews around the world are Isaiah 53:1-2, Zechariah 12:10 and for Messianic Believers, Hebrews 9:1-10:25.

There are several different names for this High Holy Day, and each name carries a special meaning:

  • Yom Kippur – Hebrew translation, Yom=Day, Kippur=Atonement, which means to cover, make reconciliation, to pacify or appease; to clear, purge, or cleanse
  • Day of Covering – When the sins of the nation will be covered for another year
  • Face to Face – This is the only day the High Priest could speak to G-d face to face, the only day he could go into the Holy of Holies
  • Day of Forgiveness – Passover was for the individual, Day of Atonement is for the cleansing and forgiveness of the nation
  • The Fast – Acts 27:9
  • Day of Grace – Free to us, but at a great cost to our Redeemer

Tomorrow ends the 40 days of Teshuvah (repentance) and the 10 Days of Awe.

I encourage everyone to set this day aside as holy – for the sake of our nation!!!

Day 6 of 10 Days of Awe

When Moses was up Mt Sinai for the 2nd set of 40 days, God introduced Himself and His character to Moses as He showed Moses His goodness. I am going to highlight the qualities of His character.

Exodus 34:6, And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord! the Lord! a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving-kindness and truth (7) Keeping mercy and loving-kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but Who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children, to the third and fourth generation. (AMPC)

  • LORD – Jehovah, “The Existing One”
  • LORD GOD – El (God) Jehovah
  • MERCIFUL – Compassionate, full of compassion – rachuwm is only used of God
  • GRACIOUS – channuwn– merciful, benignant (kind and benevolent)
  • LONGSUFFERING – arek – slow to anger, patient
  • ABUNDANT – rab – much, many, great, more numerous than, abounding in
  • GOODNESS – checed – goodness, kindness, faithfulness; in a good sense zeal towards anyone
  • TRUTH – emeth – firmness, faithfulness, sureness, stability, reliableness
  • KEEPING – natsar – to guard, to watch over, preserve
  • MERCY – checed – goodness, kindness, faithfulness; in a good sense zeal towards
  • FORGIVING – nasa – to lift, bear up, carry away
  • INIQUITIES – avon – perversity, depravity, iniquity, guilt or punishment of iniquity
  • TRANSGRESSIONS – pasha – transgression, rebellion, punishment for transgression

The last part of the generational iniquity shows God’s abundant mercy. The iniquity only goes to the 3rd or 4th generation, but mercy goes to a 1000 generations.

God is so FULL and OVERFLOWING with MERCY!!!! James 2:13 in the Aramaic Bible in Plain English reads, “The judgment is without mercy against him who does not practice mercy, but with mercy, you have dominion over judgment.” Another version reads “mercy triumphs over judgment”.

Let’s cry out for mercy!!! For our nation, for all the nations. So many people are suffering and need the mercy of God. He wants to pour out His mercy.

Day 4 of 10 Days of Awe – Day 1 of National Week of Repentance

There was a prophetic word by Richard Humphries in 1998 that you can read online at http://www.kingdomglobal.com.  It is titled “The Eclipse is Over – The Coming Hurricane – Prepare for the Latter Rain!” He prophesied about an eclipse, followed by a hurricane, followed by a flood, then a great move of Holy Spirit. WOW! I am ready for that outpouring of Holy Spirit.

  • Eclipse – August 21
  • Hurricane – August 25
  • Flood  – August 27
    • The month of the Flood of Noah’s day begins October 20, Cheshvan. This is the month the flood began and the ark settled one year and 10 days later.

There is a great emphasis on repentance right now. The National Week of Repentance has a website to follow so we are all in One Voice for our nation. Today’s Prayer Focus is: Ask God to pour out His Holy Spirit across on you, and on other people across this nation so that people everywhere begin to truly humble themselves, pray and seek God and turn from anything and everything that they’ve put before God. The website for this week is http://www.weekofrepentance.com.

Day 3 of 10 Days of Awe

Today is Shabbat Shuva, the Sabbath day of repentance. When a Sabbath day falls in between Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur, it is a special day of repentance.

Today is also a huge astrological day in the heavens. It is the day that the Revelation 12 sign is in the heavens. It is amazing how many Christians have bought into the fake news that this is a sign of the end of the world. I have had pastors and Christian friends who are trying to convince me about planet X (Niburu) is the red dragon of Revelation, that this is the end. Many have been thinking that Jesus is coming back for us this year. All of them will be considered false prophets next week.

Jesus never told us to speculate. He told us to ‘watch and pray’.

  • Mark 13:33, Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is (34) It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. (35) Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— (37) And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”
  • Luke 21:36, Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
  • I Peter 4:7, But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
  • Matthew 24:42, Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.
  • Matthew 25:13, “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

Watch in the New Testament is the Greek word agrypneō and it means “to be sleepless, keep awake, watch;to be circumspect, attentive, read”. All these signs in the heavens are ‘wake up calls’ for the Church.

Romans 13:11, “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.”

Day 2 of 10 Days of Awe

This morning I woke to a wonderful song singing loud in my spirit. The song is one that Joni Lamb and the DayStar singers sing, “I will worship You, give You all the glory”. As I quietly sang that to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and meditated on Abba Father’s goodness the “songs of deliverance” came to me. I  typed those words into my search engine on my iPhone and came up with an amazing song on YouTube. It brought such incredible peace to me.

When I checked my emails Marsha Burns Small Straws word was perfect – a true word of God in season! It lines up totally with these 10 Days of Awe. http://myemail.constantcontact.com/Prophetic-Devotional–September-22–2017.html?soid=1101176124184&aid=WnAgHDrfcX8

One of the things I wanted to ask Abba this morning was if we were to tear out the cupboards in our kitchen. If I have not mentioned this before, we were flooded 3-4 inches in our home during the 23 inches of rain in one night with TS Harvey. When I got on FaceBook one of the first things I saw was an alert to take out the cupboards. Before I even asked He gave me the answer.

Abba Father is so close right now, immediate answers to prayer are ready for all those who seek Him.

L’ Shana Tova! Happy New Year!

Today is the first day of year 5778, counting the years since the creation of Adam. This is a two-day Feast of the LORD, because ‘no man knows the day or the hour’ when the first sliver of moon is sighted. I have found several names for this ‘fixed appointed time’ on God’s Day-timer. There are 7 Feasts of the Lord, 6 of them have historical significance, but this Feast has no history. The Feast of Trumpets point to future events.

  • Spring Feast Season (all fulfilled) (have to do with ‘personal salvation’)
    • Passover
    • Feast of Unleavened Bread
    • Feast of First Fruit
  • Summer Feast (fulfilled)
    • Pentecost
  • Fall Feast Season (yet to be fulfilled) (have to do with ‘national salvation’)
    • Feast of Trumpets
    • Day of Atonement
    • Feast of Tabernacles

The Names of the Feast of Trumpets reveal of what will be happening when this Feast is fulfilled.

  • Rosh HaShanah – Head (rosh) of the (ha) Year (shanah), when the number of the year changes
  • Yom Teruah – “blowing of trumpets” or “The Day of the Awakening Blast”
  • The Time of Jacob’s Trouble – another name for the Tribulation
  • Yom Ha-Zikaron – “Day of Remembrance” – the day to remember to blow the shofar 100 times
  • Yom HaDin / Day of Judgment / The Opening of the Books / Opening of the Gates – these names all have to do with the 3 books that are opened in heaven on this day for judgment (1) The books of the Righteous (2) The books of the Unrighteous (3) The books of those in-between. These 10 days between Feast of Trumpets and Yom Kippur is believed to be the time when judgment will be set for the next year.
  • Yom HaKeseh – “The Hidden Day”, Zeph 2:1-4, ‘…it may be you shall be hid in the day of the LORD’s anger’, Ps 27:5, ‘He shall hide me’
  • Ha Kiddushin / Nesuin – “Wedding of the Messiah” – Joel 2:15-16’… let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet (chuppah)’
  • Ha Melech – “Coronation of the Messiah as King of the whole earth”

Rosh Hashanah (Head of the Year) begins tonight at sundown. As the sun goes down, the month. day and year will change. The year will become 5778, marking the years since the creation of man (Adam)

The Feast of Trumpets (also called Rosh Hashanah or Yom Teruah) begins by the blowing of trumpets (shofars or rams horns). There are 100 blasts of the shofar:

  • Tekiah blast“- awakening sound, one long blast (3 second)
  • Shevarim, “broken”- three shorter ones- weeping, lamenting, broken heart
  • Teruah, “alarm”, nine quick blasts in short succession (totaling 3 seconds)
  • These series are blown 11 times for a total of 99 blasts
  • After that, the final blast is knows as Tekiah Hagodolah, “great blast” or “THE LAST TRUMP”! (minimum of 10 seconds)

Rosh Hashanah begins 10 Days of Awe that will end on Yom Kippur, Day of Atonement that begins at nightfall, September 29, which begins Tishri 10 on the Hebraic calendar. Yom Kippur ends the 40 days of Teshuvah (repentance, turning back to God). For 40 days they have been reading aloud Psalm 27, as they make a Chuppah (canopy or covenant covering) over themselves and their loved one. They have also been making restitution to those who they have harmed, giving to the poor and doing acts of kindness. (things we should do daily, but neglect)

At the time of the blowing of the trumpets on Rosh Hashanah, it is believed by the observing Jewish people that these blasts are heard in heaven and 3 books are opened. Malachi 3:16, “Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, And the LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His name. (17) “They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels.* And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him. (18) Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him.” (Also see Revelation 20:12)

  1. Book of the Righteous sealed with the seal of God who would immediately be written for good life the next year (Revelation 3:5)
  2. Book of the Unrighteous, who would be judged during the year; the totally unrighteous whose names are blotted out.(Ps 69:28)
  3. Book of the Intermediate, those who are not completely righteous or wicked. They would have until the Day of Atonement to make restitution and get right with God or they would not be in the Book of Life. (Joel 3:14)

L’Shanah Tovah Tikatevu Literal Hebrew to English Translation: “May you be inscribed (in the Book of Life) for a good year.” This traditional Rosh HaShanah greeting wishes others a good year and is often shorted to “Shanah Tovah” (Good Year).

Years ago, the Rabbis realized that Ha’Satan (The Accuser) actually has the numberical value of the Hebrew letters of 364. They believed that there was one day that Ha’satan did not have access to them, The Day of Atonement which is the day when the blood was put on the Mercy Seat on the Holy of Holies for the sins of the nation.

As a believer, I am spending the Days of Awe praying for our nation, the nation of Israel and for the Jewish people to find Jesus as their Messiah.

Ezekiel 22:30, “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.”

How many is our LORD going to find this year? Are you one of those who stand in the gap?
